Unless things have changed Jobseekers allowance is split into two sections ..... contribution based and income based.
I think contribution based jobseekers is claimed based on the amount of stamps that you've paid over certain years ...... this lasts for a set time , and it doesn't matter how much you've got in bank , or it didn't when i claimed it.
Then when your contributions have elapsed you could be forced to apply for income based jobseekers , which as the name suggests , is based on the total income coming into your house AND the amount of money that you have in the bank ......... i was blown out of this because at the time i had just over 8k in the bank at the time of applying AND my wife worked ONE hour too many per week in her part time job ..... she was working 25 hours a week.
So then i wasn't eligible to claim any section of JSA ...... only able to sign on for a social security stamp.
As for housing and council tax benefit you should be able to get that if your claiming JSA.
