Joe Hart (continued)

I still think he needs to improve massively, people who say he's back to his best are wrong and even at his best he still needs to improve a few things.

But he secured us the points today. He made one fantastic save and three others from shots that were going in.

Cheers Joe!

Two very good performances against Liverpool and Palace. Fair play to Hart, he's responded to being dropped with dignity and professionalism, and looks better for the break. Full credit too to Pellegrini for the way he has handled it.

Improve massively? How?

He started a quick counter attack with a long throw to Nasri that hit him in stride in the Palace half.

More of that please as my only gripe is him usually rushing to the edge of the box only to stop, wait and eventually hoof it.

So what did he need to improve on today

Improve massively? How?

By becoming the best keeper in the world?

Didn't realise how good that save (low to his left) that was at the time, but the replays show that it was world class.

He's back :)

In that case Sergio needs to improve massively because he isn't the best striker in the world. Not just improve. Massively improve.

When he runs to the edge of the box there are players waving their arms in the air and he very rarely if ever releases it quickly. That's one thing I really liked about Pantillimon and he is superior to Joe with it. With our fast paced attacking play it is essential that we have a quick release of the ball from the 'keeper and Joe holds on too long too often (did it today and Boxing Day).

His decision making can be very indecisive, causing us problems. Even the other day he should have walked out and claimed that ball over the top where Lescott was backtracking and Liverpool nearly scored (was actually a save by Joe in the end but the whole situation could have been avoided had he just collected the ball over the top.

Conversely, he sometimes comes charging out of his box and not dealing with it a situation. Goals have been scored from instances such as Blackburn at home a few years ago, playing for England with the Ibrahimovic overhead kick, for the Chelsea goal this season and even recently when playing g for England when he took out Smalling and didn't deal with the ball.

His distribution can be inconsistent. Especially kicks out of hand. Against Plzen and today he kicked a fair few out over our players heads for an opposition throw-in.

He's always been a great shot stopper, and even when he was struggling with making big mistakes he was still making good saves.

But there's a long way to go for Joe in my opinion.

So what did he do wrong today
