Joe Hart (continued)

No way should Hart be back, just because he made saves against Bayern that most top line keepers would have made. For me the most telling moment for Joe was when Lescott headed the ball back to where he should have been but, as usual Joe's judegement was wrong and he was stood close to the edge of the box Fortunately Joleon headed the ball wide of the posts gving away a corner
Was that the one right at the start when we were all flustered and flapping? If so I blamed Demichelis for that, as he scuffed his pass, to which Lescott then took it over, already under pressure.
Either way, nothing to do with Hart, (IMO). I agree with you though, no way he should be back. He's currently our cup keeper until such a day Pants does a continuations of fuck ups like Hart did, something he doesn't look like doing any time soon.

Yes thats the one Just think that decision making is Joe's weakness and this was another example. IMHO Joe benefitted under Mancini's control in that each defender knew his role and had to do the job whereas Pele gives players freedom. Reminds me of Seaman being a great GK behind a rock solid defence, the same one for club and country whereas he was exposed much more when he came to us, admittedly later in his career

Talkshite are reporting it as fact he is starting! Has his agent leaked it or someone close?

It's definately not fact mirror Journo on talksport last night said as much, just an educated guess.

Yeah I know it's just that a national radio station reporting that Joe Hart is back in the city net tomorrow

The thing that really worries me about Joe is two years ago we could have said he has three weaknesses beyond reading of the game:

Long shots to his left
Near post headers, especially from corners
Coming for crosses

If he starts against Arsenal I think he'll still have the same deficiencies in his game.

People flat out assert that Hart is obviously the better keeper but Pants has had one run in the team properly where he has actually outperformed him. As a team we look a lot better with Pantilimon in goal.

i posted in the pants thread a while back that i didnt think joe would be back for a while.

the media, in particular the daily fail made joe their daily news for i dont know how long.

as joe made errors, they made hay while the sun shone & throw a couple of england games

into the mix and they had a fine old time, all at joes and then by default at citys expense and

at citys expense is the greater issue.

pants came in and has done OK and more critically city have done well in general and because

of that the poor daily fail couldnt make "news" about joe, they had to write positive stuff about

messrs negredo and aguero, it must have broke their hart......

city and pelli could go about the normal job without all that negative flak and eventually the fail

took moyes as their target for a few days until citys press team couldnt deal with the after game

issues as effectively as they could have done, so what happens we [pelli] get the negativity again

and suddenly moyes is off the hook til the weekend.

bringing back hart will just be the news the daily fail wants, because be assured, unless he saves three

penalties and city are down to 9 men and we win 1:0 they will sure find some aspect of his game to make

hay.

so why give them the opportunity.......?

unless he feels as the manager with his coaching staff that hart is worth at least a goal in a tight game that pants

isnt?....i dont see it,

at home with the players in front that we have available, pants should start the game

if we play as we can and have been, then its likely we would win regardless who was in goal.

if we dont and its a close game and pants makes a mistake then he makes a mistake

the press are hardly likley to hound the manager for keeping him in goal rather than hart

there are no guarantees that hart if selected will not make a mistake, [juts as there are no guarantees with pants]

the difference is if hart comes in and makes a mistake, hart gets slated which will do his confidence no good

and if he does make a mistake the press will make a managers error too and then we will have press against hart

pelli and city and of course by default it will be a bad result so they will have a go at us anyway.

keep pants in til he makes a number of serious errors and keep the press of our backs and onto our closest rivals

let them go at wenger or arsenal or moyes or chelsea or whoever and crank the pressure up on them and not us.

For gingerprince.

You probably made some good points in that post above, but God only knows what you used to post it as it's a nightmare to read (on a PC anyway)!

I like Hart but if he starts it will be a big blow to Pantilimon who has not really done anything wrong yet IMO.

If Joe comes in, and plays poorly, playing with the same indecision and regular calamities, then how can Pellegrini turn back to Costel?

If he drops Costel now, that's effectively a snub for a goalkeeper in good form and in great confidence. It would totally undermine him as a player. Not to mention likely really fuck him off.

If Joe fucks up again, and needs to be dropped, again, then we'll have an unhappy Costel who'll know that he's just acting as a stand in until Joe decides to pull his finger out of his arse - again.

Really precarious this one, I don't envy Pellegrini having to make this call.

There's no call to make mate. He carries on picking Pants until and if his form dips. It's conceivable Pants could be No. 1 until the end of the season with Joe in for cup games. England is not Pellegrini's problem and Joe's not going anywhere until summer at the earliest if at all. So we have a back up till the end of the season. Admittedly a decision will have to be made then but there's absolutely no need to rush now.

if Hart plays against Arsenal I hope he drops yet another bollock in a City win. No way he should play ahead of Pants. Hart ain't nobody.
