I certainly do not recognise the subject of the extraordinary character assassination in this article. www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/international/england-vs-iceland-reaction-too-rich-too-famous-too-much-ego-joe-hart-epitomises-everything-that-is-a7106591.html bit I do reconise Herbert for what he is.

If I was Hart I would seek out that little weakling Herbert in the tunnel or elsewhere and sort him out.

Funnily enough, this was my exact same sentiment. It shows Herbert up as a spoilt hate-filled brat who believes that the media have some divine right to access.

Edit: Herbert's topped it up, buy selectively quoting Hart afterwards (so as not to use the "I didn't perform' bit) and even invents that he was so poor that he might have been subbed. Sheer delusion. I note Oliver Kay in the Times puts at least some of the responsibility on the non-tackling, non-marking defence.

It may be that Hart overdoes it, but I'm fairly certain that he has professional people who would advise him if it's a bad thing.

Joe Hart has his weaknesses and you can be sure he and the club know what they are.

I am also certain that Joe works incredibly hard to eradicate those weaknesses.

I personally think he is a very good goalkeeper, nothing more, nothing less, but at this time. how many truly great/world class keepers are their out there?

How has he displayed arrogance? Can you provide examples?
I can.
Roberto pointed out his weakness to his left hand side and suggested he come in to look at video evidence and work out a training plan. Joe freaked out told him to do one and then caused all the friction and dressing room discontent which led to Roberto's departure by going round his team mates and complaining that this "ex striker" didn't know what he's talking about et etc.
That's what I call supreme arrogance

Any evidence to back this up mate? Genuinely interested.

Yes. Herbert has form for anti City rants. Strangely he thinks that

The true arrogance is when the little worm Herbert next interviews Hart and will expect him to be ever so 'umble when inside he is seething.

Hart made a couple of mistakes. Rooney literally made dozens in his passing, shooting, control, marking and decision making not to mention the introverted lack of leadership that makes it necessary for Hart to encourage his teammates so visibly in the tunnel.

The comments to the article are very mixed but Herbert seems to appeal to a lot to the non-going tribalists from other countries, a strange thing for an English paper but a sign of the times.

I found this bit of the Herbert's piece amusing

"There were other offenders at the back of the England side. Sigthorsson, of French club side Nantes, had time to receive the pass, look up, pause, and strike the tame shot with both Gary Cahill and Chris Smalling helpless to do anything about it."

He claims there other offenders and then goes on to say they were helpless. Make up your mind you ballbag.
