England vs Iceland: Too biased, too mouthy, too much ego - Ian Herbert epitomises everything that's wrong with the RagDipperArseMeedya.

I have received a text from my ERO that quotes one of the Icelandic players stating that Joe voiced the opinion that they would have to do better than this against France and the current opponents were shit! The same Icelandic player also states that 'Arry asked the ref if we were OUT if they lost!

Joe Hart has his weaknesses and you can be sure he and the club know what they are.

I am also certain that Joe works incredibly hard to eradicate those weaknesses.

I personally think he is a very good goalkeeper, nothing more, nothing less, but at this time. how many truly great/world class keepers are their out there?
This is a good post. Some of the stuff on here on either side of the argument is emotional nonsense. Joe is a good keeper who like all members of his trade sometimes makes high profile game changing mistakes. H e also has significant shortcomings in certain aspects of his game which have been well documented on this forum. The bottom line is that he is a true blue who is a major motivating factor in our dressing room and deserves to be given every opportunity by the new management team to stake a claim for the number one jersey. Will he still be top dog in 18 months or so I don't know but I believe there is a good chance that he will be.

I'll back him for as long as he's wearing our shirt but truth be told, if for whatever reason he was to leave it wouldn't bother me.
I think the game has evolved and sadly Joe hasn't evolved with it. Still a great keeper in his own right but the new City that we're about to embark on will need a number one who can offer a lot more to his defence than he currently does.
If he can impress Pep enough and work at his weaknesses and show improvement then great. I can't see it myself though.
I know there's still the vast majority that think that a keepers job is to just save goals but I don't go along with that, a keeper these days has to offer so much more.
Interesting times ahead for him that's for sure.

He is a good keeper, its just that we haven't seen any major improvements in area's that would make him the world's best. The fact there's only around 6 other keepers better than him means he isn't bad.

I certainly do not recognise the subject of the extraordinary character assassination in this article. www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/international/england-vs-iceland-reaction-too-rich-too-famous-too-much-ego-joe-hart-epitomises-everything-that-is-a7106591.html bit I do reconise Herbert for what he is.

If I was Hart I would seek out that little weakling Herbert in the tunnel or elsewhere and sort him out.
Who's that article even aimed at? What is his supposed target audience? It's woefully short on insightful content and jam packed with pretentious vocabulary.

Show me a keeper who never drops a bollock and I'll show you one who doesn't play. Its all about Joe now and how he bounces back from this, my money would be on him bouncing back just fine and having a great season next year. Even though he has his faults, talk of Pep moving him on are folly IMO.

I dont know about the feeling on here, last time I came into this people seemed to be listening to what the press had to say and I hate that, those guys talk bias bullshit about City to the point where even our own fans are believing it. I am never accepting their bullshit.

Hart is good enough for City, it has been proven in the past. Dont fix what isnt broken.

I am coming to the conclusion that the online versions of many English papers are aimed at an easily-pleased non UK readership who would never dream of reading that paper from a newsagents.

Many of the comments are very tribal but many do not seem to be from UK judging by the anti British tone in many comments and others are on the favourite 'overpaid' bandwagon.

The Trollograph used to have dozen of posters drawn from all over the globe yet many of these claiming to be from Trafford or Liverpool. Mark Ogden used to pander to these on the DT until he joined the aptly named Herbert. No wonder no one buys the Indie.
