How has Caballero developed a reputation for being "crap"?

He won us the League Cup last year, and he has always looked like a good goalkeeper to me.

I was thinking about this earlier today. He is very good keeper, wasn't even that bad in that game vs Chelsea in FA cup last year. People blaming him for all their goals and he was maybe guilty for one. Guess it's because people like Joe and he isn't better than Joe so it's like some defensive mechanism against dropping Hart.

Willy is and always was good keeper.

How quickly you've forgotten his errors, his sticky gloves as runs forward and doesn't throw or kick it and his calamitous Euros.
This will do him good. If anything his protectionism of his No.1 England status has msde him too anxious and error prone. The challenge will be good for him.

Remind me then of all the mistakes he made for City last season? Can't believe you're criticising him because he doesn't do a quick throw every time. I've noticed the fans at matches get on his case about this, what they don't notice is that almost every time, the player they are clamouring for him to throw to is the only player anywhere near the oppositions half and is outnumbered. You can tell the majority of City fans have never played 11 a side football.

And it's clear you know fuck all regarding distribution...

No.

It's not taking the piss. It's selecting the goalkeeper that follows instruction. This really isn't a difficult concept to grasp but it seems many are really having a hard time with it.

You need to put your loyalty to Joe Hart to the side. Just for a minute. Then you begin to understand that this has been done for footballing reasons and essentially comes down to one simple thing. He isn't good enough to play in Peps system.

It's been done to death now. Joe didn't start today and personally I think that should be the end of the debate.

Nail on head. People have to put loyalty aside and see what Pep is looking to do and then play the best athlete available to do it. he did that today
