Would not surprise me if Joe is back in the team in midweek. Keeps Joe on his toes and I think the squad is going to get used to the full.
Hopefully this will be the case Marv and he will earn his spot. That should be the case for every player. Earn your shirt. Reading Peps programme notes that seems to be critical to his approach.

Fully expected Willy to start today from how pre-season went, I also fully expect Hart will be back in though once Pep has had time to work with him and thinks he's ready. I think it was smart move too, why ask too much too soon of someone if you don't have to Willy was more comfortable(spent more time on it), I think it might even be a couple more weeks before we see Hart start too but that's nothing to worry about IMO when he is back he'll be ready for it.

Pissing myself at people saying Willys distribution was fantastic. He played a couple of basic passes which any average Sunday league player could have done on a pitch of that quality. Anyone thinking Joe couldn't have played those passes is wrong. Willy didn't play badly but I still fully expect Hart to have his place back in a few weeks, unless we do sign a new keeper.

Mad how quick people forget how good Hart has been and was all last season.
except for a nervy start willy's distribution improved dramatically as the game went on. at one point he even did the chip over the onrushing attacker to the fullback. cant imagine hart doing that. would like to see his passing stat from today if anyone got.

Just heard he didn't take it well and something got smashed in the tunnel

Think it s rumour emanating from twitter so take that how you want mate?

Im sure he wasnt happy not playing but there is nothing but rumour to suggest he kicked off about it as far as i know.

How has Caballero developed a reputation for being "crap"?

He won us the League Cup last year, and he has always looked like a good goalkeeper to me.

I was thinking about this earlier today. He is very good keeper, wasn't even that bad in that game vs Chelsea in FA cup last year. People blaming him for all their goals and he was maybe guilty for one. Guess it's because people like Joe and he isn't better than Joe so it's like some defensive mechanism against dropping Hart.

Willy is and always was good keeper.

How quickly you've forgotten his errors, his sticky gloves as runs forward and doesn't throw or kick it and his calamitous Euros.
This will do him good. If anything his protectionism of his No.1 England status has msde him too anxious and error prone. The challenge will be good for him.

Remind me then of all the mistakes he made for City last season? Can't believe you're criticising him because he doesn't do a quick throw every time. I've noticed the fans at matches get on his case about this, what they don't notice is that almost every time, the player they are clamouring for him to throw to is the only player anywhere near the oppositions half and is outnumbered. You can tell the majority of City fans have never played 11 a side football.

And it's clear you know fuck all regarding distribution...

No.

It's not taking the piss. It's selecting the goalkeeper that follows instruction. This really isn't a difficult concept to grasp but it seems many are really having a hard time with it.

You need to put your loyalty to Joe Hart to the side. Just for a minute. Then you begin to understand that this has been done for footballing reasons and essentially comes down to one simple thing. He isn't good enough to play in Peps system.

It's been done to death now. Joe didn't start today and personally I think that should be the end of the debate.

Nail on head. People have to put loyalty aside and see what Pep is looking to do and then play the best athlete available to do it. he did that today
