Better than most is no longer good enough for any of our players. We are aiming for 'nobody obviously better'. We are nowhere near the best in Europe and we want to be the very best. That means SIGNIFICANT improvements - we've done that with the manager (hopefully), and we are doing that with the tactics and workrate (hopefully), but we can't escape the obvious - needing to do that with players too.

In an ideal world, Pep would work his magic on every current player, they'd all fall in love with City and become the new improved Barcelona and the entire would would marvel at us. Or... we could take off our sky blue glasses and say 'he's good, but not THAT good', or 'he's been a great, but it's time to let go' or 'having the skill is great, but without the workrate it's not enough'. I'm not talking specifically about Hart here, but any player. What we currently have is not good enough to win CL. It's not even good enough to win the PL consistently. Things have to change, and we'll just have to go along with Pep's judgment.

All of that said, I'm not in the 'Pep is God' camp. He will make mistakes. Ferguson did. Paisley did (though not many!), Clough did. Chances are, he won't be able to make us Barca in 3 years. But hopefully he'll get us as close as anybody else possibly could, ready for the next guy to get us closer still.

I can't type too much nowadays. But that is a good response.

I don't think a lot of the insults or putting down of Hart is necessary. Nor is the "I cant believe people are shitting on a legend" comebacks. This has nothing to do with that. Truth is Willy is a good keeper and has always been. So is Joe Hart. Pep feels much more comfortable going with the one he believes works better for his vision. No malice, just practical. I like Joe. He is a fine lad and a competitot. ANd losing his spot is bound to hurt, so no surprise there. Hope it all works out.
I do think that is relevant. City fans acknowledge he is going and are sad about it, but it has to happen.

But there are some who are just downright abusive about him. I honestly think those fans are part time glory hunters with no emotional tie to the team and players.

Sad to see him go, I still believe he would be better all round but he's got to get his act sorted out. As for the rest of the gossip bullshit on here, it's gossip bullshit

Hart is not city through and through like some seem to be stating, I don't remember any quotes / interviews where he came across as REALLY loving the club

Compare this to Zabba or Kompany, true blue legends who you can tell would and have bled for the shirt

I guess he's taken his lead from his big mate rug head, make out you love the club and its fans when really they are just their to stoke your massive ego and wage packet

He has too many faults to be our number one going forward, thanks Joe you'll go down in history for your part in the resurgence of this great club, but you will never be seen as a great I'm afraid

Players come and go,we know that very well,Joe Corrigan was the first keeper I grew up with followed by a helping hand from Alex Williams, but now I will raise you,Perry Suckling,Andy Dibble,Eike Immel and not knowing how old you are, them guys were absolute dog shit compared to what Joe Hart has done and been for us,he will go down as a great in my eyes, and many others I'm sure

He's amongst the worlds best, goalkeeping wise. Unfortunately it sounds like he's not willing to improve his distribution skills and would prefer to throw his toys out the pram. I'll be gutted if he leaves, city through and through like zaba and vinnie. But we've now got the best manager in the world, high profile departures should be respected as long as there's a reason behind it.

Not anymore. His flaw down the left is well known and heavily exploited by players. Not world class on crosses too and bad in distributing. One thing he is one of the best is one on one situations.

Anyway, he's nowhere near his best from few years ago and there are many, many keepers at least as good as him.

He's good but can he run the channels like Margetson?

I hope the rumors are false personally, if it is a matter of adapting his game the way some of you are making out it's "impossible" to learn "at Joe's age" get a grip he's an athlete he's been playing football for most of his life we aren't talking about dragging someone off the street, if he really wants to improve his game for footwork and sweeping he will(whether that will happen I don't know but I'm not buying "it can't be done" that's stupid history books will show you that players can adapt dramatically).

Also it's apparent people have short memories here if you're doubting Joe's shot stopping too much, there's saves Joe's pulled off that I've yet to see Bravo come close to.

Name names.

Andy Dibble.....now he is a legend, then again i liked Nicky Weaver and will always remember that day and his celebration.
But agree they will never be in Joe's class,if he does leave it will be a sad day.But we move on,we have to.

Correct, agree with all of that. You missed out, can't command his area and decision making is poor, including not sure when to come or stay, catch or punch !
