Reading the last few pages of this thread I'm now convinced we have had Perry Suckling in net for the last however many years. All the best for the future Joe, you've been one of the best.

Oh come off it. How can you say he's cost us more than he's saved us over the last 3 years with a straight face? If you don't rate him fair enough but don't come out with complete utter bollocks like that.

Well I'm in agreement with what you call utter bollocks. Not had a good season since our first premier league win. Great on one on ones but that's it. Not a great shot stopper (major flaw to his left), doesn't command his box, his footwork is limited to first time hoofs and I've never seen him bollock a defender. Clichy nearly fucker up last season on a headed back pass and he laughed. He's too nice.

Thanks Joe.

Joe has been through the worst and best with City. The club are moving on and sadly it's looks as though Hart is too. As with other English Superstars he's rested on his laurels which is a shame.

We should thank him for being through the hard times with us and cheer his name when we play against him. (Unless he does a Coton. Wouldn't put it past Peggy to flog de donut to buy hart at half the price)

I find it amusing all those who blindly say Pep will be right based upon his track record. At Barca he had one keeper throughout - Valdes and then at Munich one keeper throughout - Neuer. He has hardly searched through the conference north (or foreign equivalent) and pulled out a star from nowhere. This crap about a keeper that passes is lunacy. Look at Saturday -Sunderland knew what was going to happen so every goal kick went long because they pushed up and marked our defenders. Was that Cab's fault? No - will affect his passing stats though !! Who is better at 1 on 1s, who commands his area better, who has better communication, who has a reputation for pulling off world class saves etc etc. All of these Hart is better than Caballero. If we need a good passer in net lets persuade Ray Wilkins to become a blue - I seem to recall his passing was always accurate - pretty sure his keeping is a bit shit though

Horse shit, it's not just about when he has the ball from a dead ball situation it's being able to receive the ball in open play and keeping the ball moving, Joe flaps like a tap dancers fanny when the ball is passed to him and 99% of the time he just twats it up field or out of play.
Bravo is a top top goalkeeper a couple of level up from Joe, now if Joe wants to stay and adapt and fight for his place and grow a pair of bollocks then I'd be more than happy -sadly he wants to be the main man both as a goalkeeper and dressing room good guy.

It's about a goalkeeper fitting into a system nothing more nothing less.

This is exactly why we need a keeper that passes out quickly, and instinctively sees the best pass before the defenders are closed down. It wasn't Willy's 'fault' it's just not his game, it's even less Joes game. Playing from the back isn't negotiable for Pep so a keeper that can see and execute the passes is essential.
My 15 year old son loves Joe and has only known Joe as our keeper. He's gutted, but even he can see the reasoning behind it. He like me saw on Saturday how fundamental this is, for how we are going to play.

And if teams are pushing lots of players forward to mark our defenders to try and stop it, they're leaving lots more space at the back for us to exploit. I think a huge part of peps tactic is to draw teams out of defensive shells, the less defenders our front 4 have to deal with the better, the more we can isolate/create aguero v 1 defender the better

How can you say he weakens our team?
Joe's a better shot stopper? One way of looking at it but we need more than that now to be fair, we'll find out just how he measures up to Joe on the shot stopping but he is a much better passer and he already knows Peps style.

The eye gouger doesn't give a shit about the balance books, he just wants to win. Not a chance he would willingly sell the donut thief and replace him with Hart.
