This is the champions league, not a testimonial. He'll be at the ground and fans can say goodbye after the game.

Any coach at this stage of the season will want to give his players experience in the system, so giving game time to a player who is leaving is pointless.

I was out of the country over this whole period. What did Hart do??

A couple of times he had the ball at his feet, under no pressure, with defenders available, but hoofed it up field. They did seem like small acts of defiance.

Spot on. If Hart is leaving, it would be madness to play him. Benefits nobody who matters at all. For the same reason, I'd be surprised if the Mirror is right about Yaya playing. I can understand Delph, Fernando etc getting some important game time in them under the new system, but Toure is finished at City (at least I hope he is).

It's the sort of game where Yaya might sparkle. And I don't think the club will want to pay him mega bucks for doing nothing for the next 12 months. If he really isn't in Pep's plans at all, we could with stirring up a bit of interest in him.

You make a fair point. But I just can't see Pep being interested in playing games like that; if he's out of his plans completely then I doubt he'll even be considered for this one.

No one is going to match Yaya's current wages no matter how well he plays, so I think they'll want to make it as clear as possible to him that his future lies elsewhere. If he decides to sit it out, the situation may be revisited once the window has closed. But I don't expect him to feature at all before then.
