Whatever about the individual qualities of our defenders our defending as a team was farcical at times last season, if you can't see that you understand very little about the game.

The majority don't absolve him of any blame, they just defend him against people like you that have an irrational dislike for him.

Same here, and the main point was that many of those saves were against, arguably, the best player of all time and in one of the most prestigious competitions in the world. For me, and I appreciate it's all subjective, that makes it a world class performance of a kind which I have never seen from, for example, de Gea.
