Oh Manchester, is wonderful....
Have had a look around, but havent seen a thread on this....

Have been reading this morning that the Arse are looking to snap Joe up in the summer for 8m.....(P.S. If City sell Joe for only 8 million, I will fly home volcanic ash or not and take a steamy fucking dump on the front step at COMS)

Anyway, I digress, if that is the scenario, do we bring Joe back and play him, or watch him go to the Arse, be as good as we know he is, and have the Arsenal and England number 1 spot locked up for 10-15 years?

I have to say, if thems the choices, I'd rather have him at City. Joe could well be the anchor for a defence that dominates the Prem and Europe for years and years, but because of his age, we cant say the same about Shay unfortunately.

Tough decisions coming up for the management I reckon, its all good and well giving it the "he could deputize in cup games" bollocks, but we all know its not going to be good enough for the lad and he would probably jump at the chance to go to the Arse if City arent going to play him. Could we blame him?

Something tells me Mancini doesn't have complete faith in Given since he arrived at the club.
Maybe Bobby can see the potential of bringing hart back but still as understudy just not to shay given.

-- Sun Apr 18, 2010 1:00 pm --

You get that impression how exactly? When Mancini said Given was top 5 in the world?

If I remember the interview correctly then Mancini was pressed into the answer by the reporter , he was hardly gonna say anything differently in front of the tv cameras was he?

I think the key to any successful side is having a strong spine running through it and for me despite shays great shot stopping skills he falls short in commanding his area and can look unsure when crosses come into his area.
His distribution his also very poor ,how many times does he give it straight to the opposition ?

When was the last time Shay made a save? I can't remember one from last 4 games
