Joe Hart

I see some fans still buying the myth that his kicking is bad

Unbelievable isn't it!

Some even hold up Costel 'can't even reach the halfway line' Pantilimon as some kind of king distributor that Hart should learn from! Quite staggering that we have one of the most comfortable with his feet keepers in the league and some idiots can't evèn see it.

I think most folk including me think we have a top young keeper on our hands.

However there are areas of Joe's game that can be improved and kicking/distribution is one of them. But he can work on these every day in training, and I'm sure the new manager will motivate him if he needs it.

Our Chairman in his interview on the Official site said Hart is part of the core squad, which is great news, he's still young, and he's learning all the time.

In about five years time as long as he works hard at all aspects of his game he'll be the world Number 1 no doubt, and playing for City as well. He was awesome for England in the recent friendly against Brazil.

Joe Hart's distribution isn't great, we all know that. But City almost always play against parked buses, which may be a key poin and make him look worse than he is.
If Joe is asked to get the ball out to our wide players, he is going to be made to look bad.... even a great passer isn't going to always nail 50 yard passes to team mates tightly marked and forced to hug the side lines.
All things considered, would City fans really want to swop Joe Hart..... even if you could have any keeper in the world???
No way for me.

Joe 'Golden Gloves' Hart is by far the best keeper in the Premier League, probably in the top 3 in Europe and arguably in the top 5 in the World. All this at the age of 26. He hasn't reached his peak yet so is still developing his game, including kicking. Under Pellegrini he won't be launching a high ball out wide or down the middle, he will be playing it shortn so his kicking, which I think is his only major development area, won't be susceptible to as much scrutiny. People have to get real, Joe is absolute quality, loves playing for the club and is a winner. He is going to get better and better and could easily become our record appearances holder as well as surpassing Shiltons England caps record, providing he keeps working at his game.

Yes Joe has got a lot going for him and I hope he will continue to improve. However, I think we would swap him for Manuel Neuer tomorrow.

There is a lot of talk about distribution but Joe won't be one of the top three in Europe if he continues to let soft goals in through his legs.

After an indifferent season and Pants gone, who should City sign?

indifferent ?

3rd golden gloves on the trot and, still a kid in goalkeeping terms.

stop reading the rag press otherwise you`ll start believe De Gea is the best keeper in the world and Michael Carrick is a modern day Zidane

He is doing something right if he is in our team without the financial power that we have. We could go out and buy another keeper, but we don't. Why? Because we have Joe Hart, who is a very good and still improving keeper.

His distribution is poor, but he's there to keep the ball from going in the net, not to set up attacks. I'd rather his kicking be below par than his goalkeeping. Hope he finishes his career at City, brilliant 'keeper.

Never really understood this... are you just avoiding sounding ignorant or do you believe/know that there are two keepers outside of europe better than joe hart?
