Joe Hart's Season

So Joe's made fewer saves this season. That just says to me that the defence is getting better.

Only Spurs have conceded (fractionally) less shots per game than City so Hart gets less chance than almost every other keeper to show off. Talking of Spurs, they barely had a shot on target in our recent game but scored three, none of which Hart could have been expected to save.

Richard Wright is experienced, and Costel is obviously providing some sort of competition.

Golden Glove that is all?

Not really, that award reflects on the back 4 as well as the keeper

He's made several individual errors which have cost us goals
but I have heard criticism for people like Kompany, Clichy, Lescott as well. Do people actually think Zab and Nasti have done all the defending this year?

Kompany was bad in the beginning of the season but has since shown his usual class. Clichy is usually criticized for not doing enough going forward, defensively there are few LBs better than him. Even Lescott has been decent this season (although has had some bad games i.e Southampton away). He hasn't started as many games simply because Nasti has been so good this season. The only game this season that I remember Hart playing particularly well was Dortmund away. He has made numerous costly mistakes throughout the season. He is winning the golden glove for the same reason Victor Valdes is winning the golden glove; he has barely had anything to do in most games. When he has been tested though he has generally been disappointing. Now I don't think we need to buy a new keeper but it seems hard to argue that he wasn't below average this season.

-- Tue Apr 30, 2013 5:35 pm --

I thought Hart could have prevented the cross from the first one

Pretty sure most of his errors didn't cost us points so I'll let him off this season. Pants should get the FA cup final slot, that should buck Joe up for next season.

Losses, to Sunderland, Rags and Southampton, that's a 12 point swing, Penalty save against Chelski, but I'm hard pressed to think of any games were he looked solid.

In my opinion I honestly can't believe whats being said about Hart. He's a young keeper who may still have more mistakes in him thats for sure, but hopefully when he's 29-30 he'll be the finished article and we'll reap the benefit. I for one am so pleased we have at City thats for sure.

how can you blame defeat to United on him, deflected free kick, one a shot that was at difficult angle and another from point blank range.

Please take the time to watch a video of the Dortmund game at home. Hart made some unbelievable saves to keep us in that game.

I assure you he's saved us a lot more than he's cost us. Absolute top draw goalkeeper, would not swap him for anyone.

Wigan the other week, great stop to deny Di Santo? and we went on to pick up 3 points.
