Well, it was a tragedy the way Joe left City.
Joe and William Shakespeare, then.

Never noticed before but Joe looks like Franklin Roosevelt there, same grin and twinkle in his eye.
Wilbraham but I do remember Nigel was at Chorlton Park.Chorlton Park Juniors ?
Lucky enough to have met him a few times. He was a total gent. Very kind and a true City legend. When Joe left us he became General Manager at Coventry City. They were playing at Old Trafford on the day we were playing away at Stoke. Our train at Piccadilly was waiting to pull out as his was discharging its passengers. He was able to walk the length of the platform with hundreds of City fans singing his name from inside their carriages.
Lovely memory. He looked slightly embarrassed but had a big smile on his face and waved back.
City's treatment of him was disgraceful.
72 world cup, I don't remember that one.Must have been the '72 world cup, when he was on as a pundit, can't remember who with, but apart from being the one to talk most sense,he would pronounce all the foreign players names, exactly as written,,the German player Webber with a W,not like the other pretentious pratts with as V, doing their Joey Barton continental accent.None of that for our Joe,he was brill.
1970, extolling the skills of the greatest player of the time - Peelee!!72 world cup, I don't remember that one.
Him and Don Revie were assisting David Coleman during the England v Brazil game for the BBC but it was Revie that was all flat vowels and full on literal pronunciations..."Pelly" !1970, extolling the skills of the greatest player of the time - Peelee!!
Slight edit.1970, extolling the skills of the greatest player of the time - Colin Bell.
