Joey Barton

As an earlier poster said he is scum that would be in prison if he weren't playing football. Granted he was one of the better ones in a particularly poor City team and he played well for QPR on Saturday apart from that tackle which could easily have been a sending off.

never a sending off in the memory of man, yes he was late and nowhere near the ball but no studs were shown and it wasn't exactly viscous. yellow was correct.

For what he did to Dabo he had to go and his thuggery in Liverpool deserved and got severe punishment. But being an angry person with violent rages, having drinking issues etc does not make you stupid or a bad footballer. Lady year he was clearly one of the best English players in the prem and he has added intelligent passing and great dead balls to other elements in his game. He is not as good as what we have but had spurs or united had him in their side they would not have lost 6-1 and 5-1. On his postings and commentary, he is not stupid (certainly not by footballer standards) but also he is not remotely a philosopher or genius like he thinks he is.

I am fairly ambivalent to be honest I am grateful for some things he did, I was angry and ashamed about some things he did.

But he is certainly not worth arguments between city fans.

It's never the sort of foul that should be a sending off but in today's soft arena they're sometimes given. No attempt to play the ball; it was more of a kick than a tackle and it was from behind. Vicious, no but nasty, yes. At least he didn't put a cigar out in his eye I suppose.

He is a prick of the highest order and if he was not a footballer he would be in prison with his step brother.

He is a bully and a loud mouth and the day we sold him was one of the best days during that time.

Rant over :o)

sums up my thoughts in a nutshell !

I know lads that have been in prison, been on tag or to court who are top lads. Some are good mates.

What Barton does in his life means nothing to me. What he says about my football club does and he has only said one thing about us since he left (something about making the right choice going to Toon) whereas Stephen "dead Nan" Ireland has had about ten things to say about us in a derogatory way, even proclaiming to be a life long Rag and not caring what City's scores were if he wasn't playing. Yet Ireland got clapped off the other week (although not by me!)!

I actually despise the whole of that firm, mentally deficient, turn up at the opening of an envelope, fame hungry, prized ball bags. #TOWIE
Was what he posted yesterday regarding the MW3 Launch....

Someone from TOWIE posted this back just now...

Anyone just see his interview on SSN?

The man does talk sense.

Says there aren't 7 born England players who have been as consistent as him in the last 18 months and thinks he deserves to be in the England squad.

Capello says he wont pick him because he can't trust him in keeping the game 11 vs 11, but you can't with Rooney either.

Think he deserves a chance to be fair.

The only place Barton is close to being in the 7 top English born midfielders is in his own mind.

-- Wed Nov 09, 2011 4:01 pm --

As for the Silva tackle, not a lot of difference between that and Rooneys tackle he got a red card for the other month.
