Joey Barton

Been giving it out to Warnock on twitter big time.

oey Barton has blasted Neil Warnock as an 'embarrassment' after the former QPR boss insinuated the midfielder was responsible for his dismissal at Loftus Road.

Warnock, who was sacked on January 8 and subsequently replaced by Mark Hughes, had claimed yesterday that his reputation as manager of QPR was being 'slowly poisoned' by people inside and outside of the club.

Warnock also maintained Twitter was responsible for influencing the decision made by QPR chairman Tony Fernandes.

Barton, however, refuted Warnock's suggestions and likened the 63-year-old to Mike Bassett, the main character in a film which follows the life of a bumbling football manager.

"Lost his job and the guy is blaming everyone but himself! Embarrassing, time to look in the mirror mate. Last thing we need right. Big week," Barton posted on Twitter.

"If I talked about Neil, he'd do well to get another job. Twitter cost him his job???? I can think of a million other things! #shutitwarnock.

"Neil Warnock saying I talk to much. Now that is funny #mikebassett."

Barton also hit out at Warnock's management style at QPR, claiming hs team-mates are now better prepared under Hughes.

"Looking forward to the game against Wigan tomo. 1st time in a while we actually have a plan and seem organised. #3ptsneeded," he said.

Joey should come home.

Roberto would handle him.

Joey needs to play for a club where he is the best player. Even if he was good enough to play for a top 4 club his ego would never cope with being a small fish in a bigger pond.

And is there anybody left on Twitter he hasn't had a row with? He just seems to have this obsession that the whole world is against him and therefore he must defend himself. Someone looks at him funny and that's it, they obviously hate him so he must get straight on to Twitter and slag them off as much as possible. Would he have said any of those things to Warnock's face? No, his type usually don't.

I think he probably would, and has to be fair.

He has a duty to his loyal followers to tell them what is on his mind (LOL).

It probably good therapy for him as he continues to battle the demons of his past.

Perhaps he grew up in an environment where it was strike first or be struck down and now rather than doing it physically social media gives him the next best thing in that regard.

He probably also believes that if he wasn't being critical of others irrespective of how close to the mark he is then far fewer would read what he has to say.

I would suggest on that last point he isn't far off the mark but eventually I doubt it would fulfil whatever drives him to spend time on twitter.

Typical scouser with a victim complex who will never take responsibly for his actions.

Funny thing is, he'd be playing for Arsenal now if he had'nt been a prick in the first game of the season against them, falling over and acting like he'd been shot! to get their lad a red card. Arsenal were crying out for some1 like him and Newcastle just wanted rid on a free! LMAO

Don't really see how being compared to Mike Bassett is an insult!

To be honest, Barton's comments were probably unnessecary but even worse that they came over Twitter. Increases my dislike for that site even more and helps prove right what quite a few managers (including Warnock) have said about it.

Fair play to Warnock for not responding and getting involved in a war of words. Personally I quite like Warnock as both a character and a manager.

However, I do think once the takeover happened, his days were always numbered. Reckon he might have gone at the end of the season anyway, even if he had have kept him.

Wenger I am sure is very careful not to bring in players who will attempt to undermine him and the dressing room.

Like someone said earlier Barton needs to feel he is an important player and thats why I would be staggered if a side like Arsenal and more particularly a manager like Wenger would have him especially with his baggage.

If QPR want to take that next step it would be hardly surprising if Hughes didn't move him on during the summer and despite being " organised now with a game plan " Leslie will feel the twitter rage that Joey does so well (LOL).
