Joey Barton

Just a bit more character and bite to add to our brilliance.
Absolutely, but we’re past the time of needing many of these types of player. We need mentally strong players with the winner’s mentality and the footballing skills to match.

Savage and Barton would be Zinchenko type figures in our squad.

Exactly,that is my point.

I dont want Barton types in terms of their footballing quality,as we need better.....i just want their character and,as you say, mentality.

Geting the most out of the hand he was dealt,is why i admire Barton. The off field incidents are a different conversation entirely.

He’s made things happen in his life. Whether that’s good or bad is probably up for debate. (Apart from his “obvious” punch on Tevez)

He got lucky today that Scunthorpe played their youth team, but success in life is partially down to luck.

You want characters who bet against their own team mates and then actively sabotage their own performance, and therefore the team's, to make sure they win their own bet?

Right, ok...

Looking at the highlights, I wondered if Scunthorpe hadn’t used a dwarf for a goalkeeper they might’ve stayed up..or was he just a ringer put in for this game??

Bristol Rovers really should be a much bigger club than what they are. Always liked the Gas and hope they kick on again next season in League 1.
Bristol City too, even moreso.

Bristol is about the size of Liverpool. How they’ve not got a big football club from that city is beyond me.

After a bit of digging this morning I found out that Scunthorpe sold Ryan Loft to Bristol Rovers in January and would receive a 50k bonus if Rovers got promoted!
50k doesn’t sound a lot, but to Scunthorpe it’s probably a life saver in the National League.
They should be fined 55k for throwing a game, it is disgusting for anybody connected to Northampton.

Have you been to Bristol?

Everyone’s too busy smoking weed and debating what’s the best Tricky record to bother about such trivial things as football.

They were relegated out of the football league weeks ago and have been playing youths in preparation for next season ever since. Their choice
Don't you get fined for that in the PL?

Sure teams got into trouble for fielding understrength teams.

But saying all of that, in a game where one team needs the other team to get promoted for their own financial gain and that team needs to win 7-0 to do it and the score ends up 7-0 is going a little bit beyond the pale, don't you think?

Reeks of cheating to me.

Now that’s interesting.
