John Cooper Clarke

Love him. The most underrated poet in England. I heard he is playing Stockport Plaza on 5th March; gutted as I am off to Dublin for the weekend so will miss it.

I used to know "I married a monster from outer space" off by heart at one time. Still remember most of it now... I had it on orange triangular vinyl...

I think the first time I saw was also in 77 - 78, live at Rafters.

He was the opening act, followed by Y Los Trios Paranoias, with the headline act Sad Cafe!

Packed to the "rafters"... obviously!

Also saw him in Bolton a few years ago.

When I was at Salford College in the late 70's/early 80's JCC was a Lab Technician, and a famous character even then.

One of my JCC favourites.

The man is quality. Seen him on countless occasions first being in 1978 and the last being a couple of months ago.

The Ritz is my particular favourite.
