John Guidetti

So Cole, Sheringham Solskjar Yorke? No I don't consider Hernandez and Welbeck top class but neither does Baconface that's why he's after Lewondeski from Dortmund. I'm still waiting for evidence that Guidetti can do it at prem level.

Cole, Sheringham, Solskjaer, and Yorke was in 1999! And even then Solskjaer was a selfless striker who was content with his specialised role at the club, and was never considered a world class striker in his career. Since then United have only had four genuine top quality forwards for one season (Rooney/Berbatov/Ronaldo/Tevez - but Ronaldo played wide) from memory and it led to Tevez's unhappiness. Even if he did add Lewandowski, which isn't for certain, they'd still have the fourth striker who isn't so high profile and will warm the bench a lot (probably Welbeck and they'd cash in on the Mexican). Aguero/Tevez/Dzeko/Balotelli are four very high profile and expensive players, at least one too many IMO unless Tevez permanently converts to this new role which I have doubts about once Silva returns. The constant rotation of forwards at times seems almost obligatory to make sure they all play enough, when if we had one lower profile striker we could work more on building partnerships up front instead of switching them every game as seems to be the case now.

As for Guidetti at PL level, I guess we will find out soon but given your strange dislike of him with the appalling insults of him being fat and what not, maybe you'll be happy if he does fail and we go one more year without our academy bearing any fruit.

Wrote him off already LOL. You'll be eating your words soon enough!

I don't know if Guidetti will make it at the top level or not, but I recon he would have got on the pitch today had he been fit, & from what I've seen of him, he would have presented a different problem to the opposition defence, than the players we had on there.

Who knows if that could have won us the game ?

Read an article a couple of weeks ago saying he got food poisoning which led to major problems with his leg. It has taken 6months to get over it and he is now just back in training. He said in the article that he was told by Mancini that he was part of his first team plans , so he is obviously well thought of!

I think he looks decent but he has on experience in premier league. Hope he gets loaned out and we will see what he has got

In my opinion our 4 strikers should be Aguero, Tevez, Jovetic and Guidetti, with the money we can get for Balotelli and Dzeko we can buy Jovetic who will fit our system like a glove as he can play off the man man Aguero or Guidetti or play out wide in place of Silva or Nasri or as the main man up top, it never did Barca any harm to give youth a chance.

With 4 world class strikers it's impossible to keep everyone happy.

The lack of Premier League experience argument, while valid, is also has it's exceptions, most recently Sterling at Liverpool. Some players thrive off the pressure and from watching him last year, I'd wager Guidetti turns out to be one of the exceptions, he's fearless.
On the other hand, he doesn't look close to being fit just yet.
I've said before though that we'd have a much more balanced squad with Aguero, Tevez, Jovetic/Damiao and Guidetti as well as Silva, Nasri and a winger (sorry, Scott).

He just tweeted a slightly cryptic "soon......very soon" with a picture of him in a feyenoord shirt photoshopped in front of city fans?

Maybe he's been told Mario is offski and he's stepping in as #4 striker. :D

Is he back in full training yet? I would have him over Balotelli and Dzeko everyday of the week.

Why?
We need a someone clinical in front of goal.

He might end as 3 times better than both of them but I doubt you have any sufficient knowledge about him that you could make that statement compared to Emile Heskey, and not these two.

I would bet my arm you haven't see a full game he played in last 2 years.

Saw like 5 or 6 full matches of him last season impressed me in every single one. I honestly cant see him doing any worse than Balotelli and Dzeko when starting.

Looked in much better shape than he was 4 weeks ago, on this week's Inside City. Obviously putting a lot of effort in, hope he gets the chance he deserves whether it be on loan or with us.

It's either very cryptic, or means he's going back there for a bit to get match fit.

You can't compare him to Dzeko, he's a totally different player. However, I would have him over Balotelli any day. The lad is class.

So your saying Baconface is wrong as he always says that you need 4 top class strikers. I don't understand why some are obsessed with getting Guidetti in the team when you could have a Falco, Lorenta or Soldado?

Do you consider Welbeck and Hernandez "top class strikers" then because I don't. United for me have two top strikers (one of whom seems to have been converted into something of an attacking midfielder), Van Persie and Rooney, and two sufficient rotation options who don't seem to mind warming the bench when asked.
To be fair to Hernandez he's a very dangerous player. Pacey, good finisher, good in the air. He's one of only two United players I'd have at City (Valencia being the other).
