John Guidetti's latest transfer 'request' - Galatasaray

IMO we should do what the rags did with Wellbeck loan him to a PL side. Perhaps one of the newly promoted teams?
There will always be speculation whether he can play at the highest level unless he plays regular first team football in a top league.

John Guidetti is our City's future
Although he is talented, but need recover first and improve more.

I love Guidetti in City
I really looking forward to wait John Guidetti be our first team someday.

Whatever you do, don't hold your breath. There's more chance of Adebayor becoming a regular than John. If we can get 4 - 6 £mill , let's cash in. Sadly, he's not good enough for a a side with Prem & Champs League aspirations IMO. Wish him all the best though.

Yeah, he needs to put up those numbers in the Premier League before he can get first team here. Even 10 in 23 would be difficult for him, IMO.

I've watched him play in the flesh many times. He's a very decent player, but is he anywhere at all near the level of our current four ? In my opinion, no and never will be. I'd love to be proved wrong but I doubt It.

No disrespect, but Koeman disagrees:
Feyenoord coach Ronald Koeman believes that the sky's the limit for Manchester City starlet John Guidetti.

The Sweden international impressed during his one-year loan spell at Feyenoord in the 2011-12 campaign, and Koeman had nothing but praise for the youngster.

"I think that John can be as good as Zlatan Ibrahimovic," Koeman said to Voetbal International.

"I've coached them both. Zlatan struggled a lot more than John to find his way in Netherlands. John is on the same level as players such as Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart at that age.

"That's great for a striker, because it's a very difficult position.

"He arrived at the club and immediately adapted to his new surroundings, even though I don't think he had ever played in a formation with three attackers before.

"If you're capable of that at the age of 19, and can be this important for a team, you're going to become a big player. Simple as that."

Guidetti netted 20 goals in 23 Eredivisie appearances in 2011-12.

But like you say, you hope you're proven wrong.

good shout...

If he was a Feyenoord player full time and we we're linked with him on goal.com for £10m and the same club's were interested in him as they are now, the same people who are saying he won't be good enough for us would be wanking over him as the next best thing.

The same people will want us to sign RVP even though Guidetti in the same league outperformed him at the same age.

Those same people will reply to the above by saying "well RVP has scored 30 goals last season, has John Guidetti" which is pretty stupid considering he won't be given a chance to see if he could or not.

Same views everytime, getting boring now.

i personally think we should try and hold on to him.23 starts,20 goals is a good return in any league..koeman speakes very highly of him and comperes him to ibrahimovic....says he is on a par with van der vaart and sneijder....fookin 19 years old....

Naah its not that simple. Guidetti will never be a Van persie. he simply doesnt have anywhere the level of technique Van persie showed at Feyenoord. RVP was a left winger or attacking midfielder in holland and was well known to be one of their most skilful players, but also troubled kid who alot of people thought would waste his talent due to attitude. Also when you are talking about 19-20 year olds, dont look at just stats. Some of these players are physically still growing and some develop later physically.

They are goalscorers. Lionel Messi and Alan Shearer are two different types of skilled players but both have been world class goalscorers.

Dzeko isn't technically skilled yet still scored 17 goals in our side last year. If Guidetti replaces Dzeko in the future and scores a similar amount of goals then we will have saved £25m on someone who can do that, but we will never know until he is given a chance. Will he get ahead of our four strikers now? No, he needs to go to a better league and prove he can do it there as well and if he does do it in say Seria A or even the Premier League then he HAS to be given a chance here.

Welbeck scored 6 goals for Sunderland when he was on loan there, i would put alot of money on Guidetti matching that if he was at Sunderland.

The only way to find out if he is as good as people say he is is to play him in the Premiership and see how he performs. A loan deal to one of the lesser Premiership clubs should give him the stage to show his talents. We did it with Joe Hart and that worked out well enough...

he would match that. but city is not united, he wont get a chance here

think it would be silly to let him leave without giving him a chance somewhere be it on loan our as a 4th or 5th striker

best option is to loan him out to a PL team, but doesnt he has1 year left on his contract?

this guy is far too big for his boots. if ever there was an example of everything wrong with the modern day 20 year old footballer it is him. he thinks he's gods gift

Disagree

I would be more pissed if he was happy to sit on his arse and pick up a salary

He did well in the Dutch LEague he clearly is a top player and wants to play football - he wont get much game time here at City in the near future and at 20 if he was ever going to break into the team now is the time - but he reads papers like you and i and will know that City are in for RvP which would tell him all he needs to know

Sell him or play him - clearly we are not going to play him so sell him and ket him get on with it

Michael Owen sums up what is wring with modern football - happy to sit on his arse for 3 years at the rags collecting a salary and content with being at a "top club" even though his contribtion was and is less than fook all

Hope the twat end up at Stoke or Wigan

2 years left as far as I know

Is he good enough to play for Real madrid? Barca? Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man United?

No.

SO, why do some people think he is good enough to get into a team with FOUR WORLD CLASS STRIKERS?

He needs to choose......wait for your chance at City while gaining more experience elsewhere, or let the Boss know that you want to STAY HERE and work with the First Team squad as the Fifth striker, knowing your chances will be limited, but wanting to bed in with the squad with whom you want to play for the next 5-10 years?

i hope he sticks around and gets a few chances to shine this year, as it may well save us a few bob AND allow us to sell any non-performing forward!!

Oh, and, if City ask, it might be nice to sign a new contract THIS YEAR if you really DO want to stay, because trying to leverage us NEXT year will be seen as a tad mercenary!
