If he was a Feyenoord player full time and we we're linked with him on goal.com for £10m and the same club's were interested in him as they are now, the same people who are saying he won't be good enough for us would be wanking over him as the next best thing.
The same people will want us to sign RVP even though Guidetti in the same league outperformed him at the same age.
Those same people will reply to the above by saying "well RVP has scored 30 goals last season, has John Guidetti" which is pretty stupid considering he won't be given a chance to see if he could or not.
Same views everytime, getting boring now.
Naah its not that simple. Guidetti will never be a Van persie. he simply doesnt have anywhere the level of technique Van persie showed at Feyenoord. RVP was a left winger or attacking midfielder in holland and was well known to be one of their most skilful players, but also troubled kid who alot of people thought would waste his talent due to attitude. Also when you are talking about 19-20 year olds, dont look at just stats. Some of these players are physically still growing and some develop later physically.
They are goalscorers. Lionel Messi and Alan Shearer are two different types of skilled players but both have been world class goalscorers.
Dzeko isn't technically skilled yet still scored 17 goals in our side last year. If Guidetti replaces Dzeko in the future and scores a similar amount of goals then we will have saved £25m on someone who can do that, but we will never know until he is given a chance. Will he get ahead of our four strikers now? No, he needs to go to a better league and prove he can do it there as well and if he does do it in say Seria A or even the Premier League then he HAS to be given a chance here.
Welbeck scored 6 goals for Sunderland when he was on loan there, i would put alot of money on Guidetti matching that if he was at Sunderland.
