Very sad news. To me he is the voice of “it’s over to John Gwynne at Old Trafford” (cricket) or “it’s over to John Gwynne at Boundary Park” and then I can hear his voice.

Had a very long day at work yesterday so only heard the news this morning. So sad to hear he passed away. he had an iconic voice and was a brilliant story teller. He lived a very interesting life and imagine all his dreams came true being able to be part of something so great. I loved listening to him talk about his life on some of the interview clips. RIP John xx

Also Willow wood is a fantastic hospice. Supported our family when my nana and grandad were very poorly and passed away.

RIP to another iconic and great commentator and from what I've seen, a great man who did lots for good causes and charity. Hearing his voice takes me back to Picadilly 261 and GMR and the darts at Xmas time. Hope his family find strength at this terrible time.
