Curious about someone on the internet. My fucking days i'm glad i'm not you.
You've just added this little gem.

Again you've misquoted me. I'm sorry if you have trouble understanding what I write. It is not something that is frequently said about me.

I said I your input was curious. For someone who seems to spend a great deal of his time following what others have to say about your favourite subject, it is astonishing that you feel able to criticise others for displaying a passing interest in what others have to say.

For me David Coleman was the best commentator by far from anyone on this planet, his commentary of the Everton man city cup quarter final 81 at Goodson was the best I have ever seen and heard, his quote of ITS BEDLAM AROUND THE GROUND was probably the most descriptive assessment of an atmosphere on a game, if you ever get a chance to see the m o t highlights just listen to the commentary, fabulous famously impartial,

The Game we know has changed beyond recognition since we first fell in love with it as small boys. Its nice if some small things dont change and that includes Match of the Day ( yes I know its crap).

Other small matters such as Referees wearing Black and not Yellow or Green, ticket prices that dont require a Bank Loan and Motty stays on MOTD forever it isn't too much to ask.

Honestly; it upsets me to find out that he isn't very nice ( Toma's post earlier).

Absolutely...David Coleman's passion and knowledge were tremendous. he threw everything into commentary and had high standards (didn't suffer fools apparently). But he conveyed the moment excitedly and excitingly. Legend.

I've got an old book of "colemanballs" somewhere very funny :-)

1-0. Economic and brilliant.

I don't know if he is or isn't a nice bloke, or if he does or doesn't hate City. But I do know that he is fucking awful at his job and at least does a good impression of being senile. And has done for at least the last 10 years.

Fucking terrible.

When he is commentating he sometimes sounds like someone has just woken him up. Randomly shouting "OHHHHHH, IT'S A THROW IN ON THE HALF WAY LINE" or some other banal details, as if a world cup winning goal has just gone in. As if he has just sat up in bed, talking bollocks.

And why does he find his own musings funny at random intervals, when no trace of humour is present?

"Oh and, ha, haha, Rickie Lambert has actually, ha, made three appearances this season from, haha, the substitute bench"

NURSE!

Yes, you describe his style perfectly. "1-0..."

Yes he made mistake hence the Colemanballs but that sholdn't take away from the fact that he was a trememdous professional. I loved the fact that he got carried away in the moment. Yet he was still impeccably impartial which is what I imagine most people want. There was a terrific tribute programme to him last year which did him justice and there were some very funny moments in commentary when he made some very strange noises when getting excited sometimes but he was brilliant. My favourite commentator by far too.

There was one game (it may have been George Best for the rags) when he came out with his trademark exclamation "1-0!" when the ball was going towards an empty net only for a defender to appear and clear it. From his stunned silence he must have felt a bit of a twat.
