I think he's a midfielder playing at centre back. If dinho needs a rest or get injured he'd be my choice to play that role.
Wasted at CB. We want him on the ball futher up the field. He's great at bringing it forward and has a good eye for a pass

i think he gave the ball away maybe once ?
If it was once I'd be surprised, I thought it was more. Anyway, hopefully he'll be here in 10 years time, captaining the club to success after success. However, don't want him winning anything with England though!

Young defenders like him will always make mistakes. His positives far outweigh his negatives which are mostly due to inexperience. I feel like he's going to be a huge part of our future.

I thought he was good yesterday. I know he's made a few mistakes but he's gonna be the best English defender for some time - well apart from Phil Jones obviously!

My own view is that so often central defenders only really come of age in their late twenties after lots of games.
Stones is young and no way the finished article but......
If he carries on developing then he is going to be a hell of a player for us over the next ten years. Definitely captain material as well.

Not sure it is just his age mistakes happen because Pep also wants high risk football I can live with that
I've been very impressed with Stones already the first name on the team sheet in our defence he will be around for years and will only get better

Quality player that suits our style and his young and hungry

I think Otamendi would be a better defensive midfielder than Stones. Think it would suit his rashness a lot more as if he gets caught out he has a defensive line behind him.

"In Pep's game, a good midfielder playing as a defender can bring the ball out with force, like a catapult and that gives tremendous impetus to the rest of the team."

- Domenec Torrent

"He knows how to hold the ball if there's a problem, he's fearless about dribbling past the first line of press - if he's part of the 3 bringing the ball out from the back he gives us a lot of security. I really think he could be the perfect Central Defender for us. He has no fear of going forward. None at all."
- Guardiola

Both descriptions are about Joshua Kimmich from the new Guardiola book, but I reckon they shed light on why Pep was so keen for Stones specifically. He doesn't have superb passing ability like Boateng or Bonucci and some other "ball playing" centre-backs, but the one thing he does really well, possibly even better than them, is come out of defence "with force" and carry the ball past the first player into midfield and obviously Guardiola and co. value that massively.

Here we go the bloody book quoted yet again !

I wonder if all the people complaining about the book would be complaining if it was just a quote from Guardiola in a press conference.

It's a fucking Guardiola quote - where it comes from isn't fucking important.
