Outstanding tonight for England. Looked back to his best for the first time since the injury.
Raheem also had a great 68 minutes, although I had to close my eyes when he went for that 50:50 with their goalie. Remarkably brave for a little man.He did look back close to his best tonight. Just worth pointing out to those who whinge and moan about England and the negative effect on clubs, sometimes like tonight Stones getting a good 90mins was at best a god send at worse a massive favour.
Do not normally watch England because of the treatment Raheem has received , but Stones had a great game and his performance level was back to his pre-hamstring injury , he needs a run of games to rebuild his confidence and i think he will be back on track.
And we desperately need him. Just cannot rely on Kompany staying fit, so a in-form, confident Stones is a must.
should play next two games. no coincidence we have been at our best this season with him in the side
He has been absolute crap since Xmas including when playing for England so whilst I would risk him in the Liverpool game due to us having nothing to lose, I don’t want him anywhere near the Derby.
dont agree with that at all. he was fantastic against holland and good against italy ( other then one mistake, maguire, walker and other all made mistakes swell) and to be fair hes barely played since coming back from injury.
Kompany, laporte and otamendi have all made mistakes swell. in form and fit stones is class and the only way he gets back to that is by playing.
seems unfavoured now. i still think we were at our best with him and otamendi in the team. id bring him/laporte back for the next game.
And then he got injured, and then came back and was out of form. Do you remember that part?seems unfavoured now. i still think we were at our best with him and otamendi in the team. id bring him/laporte back for the next game.
