Just watching him over the last couple of seasons and certainly the last few weeks in this new role I can’t help but feel he’s turning into the Paul Lake we never had.
Both hugely popular, very versatile and just all round lovely footballers.
Winner in the champions league final now please John :) ….
 
john has really grown into the role,beyond what i thought he was capable of(that sounds wrong) moving forward, so calm and mature on the ball,giving people the option,the players having the trust in john to take the ball in any circumstances ,his passing and the odd goal,i think lakey was more graceful , maybe we are shining a light on lakey because of the circumstances,but imo he was a proper rolls royce of a player,and im sure pep would of made him into one of the best midfielders in modern day football,imo lakey had everything pep needs in a midfielder
