£53m? I don't care how good he may become in the future, no way is he worth that sort of crazy fee as of now. And yes, I'm fully aware that he isn't setting the fee. We had the same thing last summer with Raheem, paying way over the odds for potential. Still; as the argument goes, "it isn't my money".
They also thought mangala was worth what we paid for himThe club and Guardiola clearly feel he's worth the expenditure. A player is worth whatever the club is willing to pay for him.
technically gifted, young, brittish, cb 50 million sounds about right i´m afraid£53m? I don't care how good he may become in the future, no way is he worth that sort of crazy fee as of now. The whole market has gone mad jimbo,it won't just be us paying a huge amount for players, add to the english tax and it's about right, pep said he would love to work with a core of english players but there is the price plus 20m because they are english,it is what it is£53m? I agree with that to an extent. If we had bought Sterling for 20m, he would have more than likely performed well last season.
The media, pundits, fans were on his back from day one he's been crucified ever since. The same could happen to Stones.

Same reason as everyone else who moans about the cost of transfers. They're worried the media/their rag mates will take the piss.
Guilty of it myself BBS to be honest at times but a lot I think is excitement? We have pep as our manager and it feels amazing! Now I just want him to get the players to destroy Maureen!
I would suggest we already have those
Fucking better be now! In a moment of excitement after I'd heard about the Aguero/Kelechi tweets I went in to the next office and bet £50 with an Evertonian colleague that he'd be officially ours by the time work finishes on Friday @ 4.30pm
Aguero/Kelechi tweets?
According to Oakie. I think he put his missus's glasses on by mistake though when seeing this tweet.Did these actually happen then?
Aguero/Kelechi tweets?
Nothing wrong with a bit of over excitement young RichardsGuilty of it myself BBS to be honest at times but a lot I think is excitement? We have pep as our manager and it feels amazing! Now I just want him to get the players to destroy Maureen!
