The Mail (yes, I know!) are reporting we still havent even put in a formal bid?......I understand Everton wanting replacements before letting him go but if this is true....I would have to agree with some of the comments that we dragging our feet....

Maybe that because we are still discussing the price with Everton. What good is a formal bid if we know they are not going to accept? Sounds like that's something the Rags would do.

Got to say I agree with City_Sean, no flapping involved but I'm not keen on the idea we give a club the opportunity to get the replacement when we are going to be paying them £50million.

Everyone knows they are going to have the money, so it's not down to hoodwinking, and therefore we should be sorting this deal to OUR BEST BENEFIT, and that is for him to be joined up with the squad asap.

Fuck Everton.
Would you say the same if it was Sergio and Real making a bid.I know the answer to that already.

Bullshit.

Talk about a stupid strawman argument.

IF I knew that Sergio was going to Real and it was, for example, for 100mil and it was def going to happen, then personally I'd want it done straight away. Why wouldn't I?

Hi mate......just seen Stones (on twitter)back at Everton training, having pictures taken in their new kit..... we've been interested in Stones for months, with Stones wanting to join us for pre-season, if we dont know what Everton want for him by now, we should...."IF" the Mail are right and we havent even made a formal offer yet, this could still take weeks....

Really think this so called deal never was inspite of the ITK people saying this and Sane were done deals weeks ago

Never know what the club is thinking and if Pep has a say into who he wants in at what price. He may well have seen enough of the current squad and thought 50m was too much for Stones and we could do with our current CB's? What if Kroos coming is a real possibility and he rather use the money for him and Sane instead? Lots of variables and I think a lot rides on what the club can get and at what price.

Yup. Unless the fee is a stumbling block, I can't fathom the delay. We want him to come, he wants to come, and Everton know he wants to come and haven't given any indication that they won't let him. I know it probably isn't true, but we seem to specialise in these fucking irritating long winded affairs

Just been listening to City watch podcast and they made an interesting comment....they think we know Stones only wants us, so we playing hardball with Everton becuase we think we the only ones at the table. I think this could be the reason.....we know Everton want 50mil for Stones but we not willing to pay it because we dont believe anyone else will outbid us for him and in the end, expect Everton to drop their value.....if this is the case, we are dragging our feet and delaying Stones's transition into Pep's squad so we can put more pressure on at the negotiating table...could be completely wrong but makes sense to me what could be happening...
