Well I was just asking the other poster the question, regarding the Sheikh, Khaldoon etc & their attitude to spending.

I don't think they are willing to chuck money around the way City's fans are. They want to save a million or two on each deal if it's possible & Txiki has shown that it is.

My evidence for that, is the fact that we don't have Pogba & the way we held out last season with DeBruyne & Sterling.

It would be a much easier job for the D.O.F. if they told him to just 'spend it'. I think he is doing what he's been asked to do, make sure everyone knows we won't just pay 'anything' & are willing to walk, if it gets stupid, & leave the club possibly with an unhappy player.

That's why I asked for a little clarify there bud. I don't play FIFA career modes or know much about how the requests worked. Bizarre concept for us over here. Seems to have a lot of subtle implications around when it's used or even the effectiveness of it. Now I'm more informed. Cheers.

It may be more than 50 mil Everton are asking too, for all we know. They may want stuff on top of that.

We will probably end up shaving a mil or so off the fee & getting some of it paid in add ons.

Very rarely do you see players demand to be traded. If a player demands to be traded here they'll tell him to fuck right off. You don't work out an agreement with the other team and then ask your current team to accept the offer. The players don't have that power. 95/100 times when a player is moved it's done because that's what the owners wanted to happen with little concern of the players wishes. A transfer request here punishes you financially and I have yet to understand how it helps out the player.

Why are in such a rush to buy the lad? For me the club should back of the deal just because we have enough cover plus the young lad who played centre back for us in last game.

Yeah, our need to get the player is greater than their need to sell, so they're in a strong position. I guess Begiristain has to at least try and negotiate a better price for us though.

Although after Ronald's reaction after last nights game they may become more active in the market.
