It more than likely will be on Everton's terms. One way or another we will end up paying £50 million, even if it is with add ons.

That said, we're in a position where we can play hard ball because he wants to join us and there is no longer any competition for his services.

We've priced the competitors out just like we did with Sterling and KDB so now it's up to Everton whether they want to price Stones out of the move.

Personally I think their board will want him to leave and are just posturing over the fee.

It's basically the same as the Sterling saga last season.

You think you only get a signing fee when you sign a new contract at a new club?

Football Manager is hugely inaccurate when it comes to contracts and transfers, mate. Stop going by it. Every player gets what you and Football Manager describe as a "signing on fee" when they sign any contract.

You can put Milner as an example, and I can put Suarez as one. What you're saying makes sense from your point of view but in the grand scheme of things, it means very little.

Your only looking at the positive for everton for the big clubs in Europe it's a negative the lad with the money wants CL in three years there might not be a CL in three years all this money in our league might mean Europe big clubs make it a closed shop

This season? Depends on what we do in the next month. If it goes well for us in the window, 4th-6th. If it doesn't, 6th-8th.

Within three years, a team that will regularly be top four.

Don't forget that two years ago we were 'knocking on CL qualification' for over half a decade. Not much is needed to get us back to that position and then past it. A good management team (which we now have), a board that has high goals and can finance them (which we now have) and a few quality players (which we may or may not get this window, but will certainly get in the next year).



I said 'back to Stones', providing a subtle hint that I would prefer if we stopped going off topic and get back to talking to Stones.

These investors, they bankrolled Arsenal football club did they? Arsenal fans have been moaning about their board for years, and you are putting out the red carpet for them? It was one thing trumpeting Moshiri when he first arrived. What has changed? The manager was a very good start, but not a lot else has happened.

Because if we say "sod it" and pay the extra £5m, that tells other clubs who we may be buying from in future that if they hold out for whatever price they want, they will in the end get it. It's all a game of who blinks first, I think we'll win this one.

The Sterling fiasco doesn't seemed to have had any adverse effects on the signing of Sane.

We can play as hard ball as we like, they have no need to sell him so it will be their price or no price. He is a commodity to them that someone wants to buy. The fact he wants to join us, goes against us in terms of the dog wagging the tail

How have we out-priced the competition? As far as I was aware, there has been no one else sniffing around other than Chelsea last season. With the TV money, other clubs can afford him if they want

I can only assume that Bony doesn't want to go there or they can't match his wages. It would seem like the perfect deal for everyone. We get Stones. Everton get a replacement for Lukaku who's a similar sort of player and some money. Everyone gets to come out of it looking like they got a good deal.

You don't understand the situation at all and yet you're giving your opinion, which really bafffles me.

Kroenke is a control freak. He wants the entire club under this thumb. Moshiri (and Usmanov) were desperate to invest in the club and push it on from the fourth place mainstays that they are. Kroenke didn't want other people doing that. Which is why Moshiri jumped ship and moved to Everton; a club which is more than happy to let him have the control and influence that he wants. A club that needs him to have control and influence. Usmanov, his long-term friend and business partner, bought his 15% so that he could go to Everton. Now, the word is that Moshiri left to put the foundations in place at Everton and around the end of the year, Usmanov will be offering his shares to Kroenke (which he will gladly purchase) so that he can join Moshiri at Everton, purchasing a controlling stake in the club. This isn't some fantasy. Some very well informed people (people who knew about Moshiri moving to Everton months in advance) are saying that this is the situation.

Kroenke is the reason Arsenal are not "bankrolled".

You're entitled to your opinion. I can understand it too, as you're a fan of another club with absolutely no inside knowledge of what's happening at Everton.

I, on the other hand, have heard just how ruthless the ambition of Moshiri really is. As I said, don't forget that we have been knocking on CL qualification for most of our time in the past decade.
