John Stones

I made a point which is my opinion and a pretty logical one. I didnt have a go at you so not sure why you're getting vexed. Just answer the point. Not interested in pm'ing you.

BTW, my next door neighbours dog told me we were after Pep as soon as the Spanish executives and his best football buddy txixi arrived.

I know people can and do get bits of "inside" info from a variety of sources so it is entirley possible that Salfordpaul is someone who knows something. Equally, tons of people could have made a prediction about Pep and tried to pass it off as insider knowledge, with a bloody excellent chance of being right. I tend to stay away from making predictions but I have long expected Pep at City and I didn't need Salfordpaul or my neighbour's dogs help to form that opinion; who did!

I remember people getting really excited about Boyata breaking into the side, and look how that ended up. Tosin will benefit enormously from the pre season appearances and the coaching of Pep but to think he's ready to slot straight into the side in games that actually mean something is optimistic at best.

Although you may or may not think Stones is worth the money, he has already got experience of playing in the Premier League and International football, his form may have dropped off last season but he was playing for a manager that refused to actually practice defending or set pieces! I've heard too many people that have played the game, or spent years within the game saying what a talent John Stones could be to not expect great things if we complete this deal. The price is irrelevant, It's not my money

All the things he has been slated for were the same things that were also used against Camel Gob when he was at West Ham and no one in their right mind can't deny what a great defender he was for many years

I dont think Tosin is ready mate. Has a bright future but has a long way to go before he can be seen as an upgrade. Pep pretty much said that in his presser yesterday..We've signed some great attacking players but believe we have more questions than answers at the back and Laporte, Bonucci and Stones tell me Pep/Txiki feel the same, we just havent delivered "yet"..This should have been sorted alot earlier in the transfer window, if not Stones then move on to someone else, with one of the most important games of the season in under 10 days time...Our transfer business leads me to think Txiki more comfortable with the fullback position (with new lads showing promise) but still alot of unknowns. I see "not signing a ball playing CB to run Pep's system" as the one major fail, so far this transfer window...Hopefully Stones gets done this week!

Pep's comments...

"Tosin has a lot of steps to getting better, so he's not done. He's not a player who is done. But he has all the qualities. He's fast, he's faster than people can believe. He's strong in the air.

"But he has a lot of things to improve and I hope from the deep of my heart that I can help him, we can help him to develop his skills."
: I thought he was very good against Dortmund.

Offering him what new players? Because that time ffp was seriously effecting us, if you look back city thought we wouldnt fail it, in the end we failed because they changed the goal posts.
Mancini said many times towards the end of the 2012 season, that "The time to strengthen is when you're on top.

Nobody in there right mind could possibly believe that Sinclair & Rodwell were ever going to be, at best, adequate replacement for the departing NDJ or Tevez (and I don't believe Mancini did either, he may have had his faults, but he certainly wasn't a fool).

He let it be known, through the press which 3 or 4 players he wanted, and in the end didn't even get one of ''em.

Whether, as Karen says, this was all part of Txiki's master plan to force him out, (Because a few precious Marde arses in the 2012 squad had objected to double training sessions) we'll never know. but it's my firm belief that, had the board backed him, some of the established 'stars' that were already here, had been told in no uncertain terms (by Mancini) that they were well & truely, out on their arses.

Hence the revolution prior to the
FA cup final against Wigan.

Nothing to do with double training sessions and the "precious few mardarses" included everyone that was hugely important for us and they are all still at the club now and made up the spine and still do to an extent.

It's amazing no matter how many times people get corrected on this nonsense they still put it forward as a valid point of view.

In the summer of 2012 Txiki didn't work for the club. In the summer of 2012 Mancini was informed that in terms of adding to the squad there was no way more TOP wages could be added without players being moved out. IE. If you want RVP, you have to sell Dzeko or Balo. We knew that we had an FFP problem coming over the mountain and we knew that we wanted to at least attempt to pass FFP baring in mind the squad as it was had just won a title.

The problem wasn't the spending - it was the manager. Mancini fucked up the summer of 2012 himself by fighting with Marwood and acting like the prima donna he is rather than actually doing his job and identifying realistic targets who could improve the squad without demanding 200k a week or costing 40 million plus in transfer fees. All the other stuff about him being hamstrung or people working against him is embarrassing fucking bollocks which is utterly disrespectful to our owners. They decided to clip his spending wings, not Marwood not Cook and not anyone else who was working in Manchester.
