John Stones

Wasn't there a rumour this time last year, when Chelsea were all out for Stones, that we'd agreed a deal with Everton to take him this Summer?

Maybe he was part of Pep's plans along with KDB and Sterling even back then?
If there was such a rumor it was probably a false rumor. I believe he wanted the Chelsea move last year.

Everton just weren't having it. But with the development of Mori, and the overexagerated errors of Stones during the season, I can see Everton letting him go before he loses value or leaves on a Bossman.

should get him, just to show other prem clubs that we are the top dogs in town. that when we are in reckoning there is no better alternative. that would be a statement.

This will already pit pep against Maureen! Who will come out on top? Pep I imagine will not want those out to the eye gouger for any top targets

So we have 11 days before England play there first game in France minus Thursday due to the friendly against Portugal, I imagine it will be like Dave was where we sign him subject to a medical.

Skybet just responding to bets being placed - thick Sun reading rags lumping on the transfer because the Sun and the Mirror say they are getting Stones - there is no evidence to say the rags are ahead of us for his signature.

as a player im not arsed if he rocks up here or not. i dont mind putting their noses out again though

Is Stones that good? I mean, I know there is a potential, but so was with Mangala.

I've never understood how they get away with this. The only TV based sports news channel has it's own bookies that take bets on and reacts to breaking news stories.

If they are in a tricky position on a bet they just trot out the "sky sports news understands" line on the opposite position and the market moves in their favour

Please don't say it's regulated because we all know what a crock of shit that is when it comes to the press

Sky don't own sky bet.

You wouldn't have the likes of Barça, City, Chelsea & Utd chasing you if you weren't any good.

Best young centre back who isn't already at a top European club. And yes he's better than Laporte.

Would look odd if they got Pellers and then stones joined us. Let's hope we wrap this up quickly

There seems to be a clamour for this signing between the big clubs. I just don’t see it. He is good on the ball but I think you need to defend first and I am not 100% convinced he is anything other than an average defender. If he gets a big move this summer there will be a lot of pressure on him and I can see his game going to pieces. If this ends up being a £40m+ transfer I would be happy to let it pass us by.

It will be interesting to see him at the Euros. If he can't get in the team ahead of Cahil and Smalling then that will say a lot.

Not really, it'll tell us what most already know. Roy Hodgson is a terrible manager who likes to tickle the balls of anyone who plays their club football for a team in red.
