Definite rag

lol m8

I remember the days of lee Bradbury so unless you played over at the swamp for them shit houses you owe me a apology
Never been so insulted in my life!!!

All I'm saying is laporte and stone both needed.
Pep ain't no idiot he knows what he's doing.
The slagging of stones on here is out of order

I'm surprised at that post tbh, I thought it was common knowledge he had been having his input for over 12 months.... The likelihood is 4/5 of our purchases (including KDB and Gundogan) will all of been German based, I think that's a pretty clear indicator (:

Utterly ludicrous to think that Pep is not having a big say in our transfer business. I mean WTF has he been hanging round with Txiki for recently or meeting him in Amsterdam earlier in the year or pooping over to AD earlier in the week. I'd be surprised if one of the reasons Pep has joined City is not that he has been told he can build the team he wants.

Who in their right mind takes on a job (one which will have you under intense scrutiny and runs the risk of significantly harming your reputation - or cementing it as genuinely great manager) but has little influence over his playing staff?

You get Mourinho, or Pep without them having significant control of who comes and goes. It's madness to suggest otherwise. It might work for the likes of Rodgers who was an up and coming manager heading to a big club, but not the likes of Pep and Mourinho.

I'd rather have Otamendi out than Mangala, but for the next season I'd rather keep both of those two and let Stones prove himself for a year then go for him next summer & replace Nico with him. Obviously that would only work if we knew nobody else was gonna go for Stones...

Centre backs for this season could be Kompany, Otamendi, Mangala, Laporte & Denayer which would more than see us through, with Denayer able to cover right back if required.

Obviously Pep has a say. In March Pep and Txiki meet in Amsterdam and the next day Txiki met Gundogans agent (uncle). Surely thats not just coincidence.

Just putting Paul straight, he obviously didn't have a scooby hence his comments

I think there might some kind of agreement that stones can leave this summer for a set fee and to a club that can offer CL football!
With his on off move to Chelsea last season not happening in the end it makes me think they've assured him of a move this year if a club meet their valuation and are in the CL, therefore I'm hoping it won't be like the Chelsea bollocks of last season or the lescott scenario of 2009.

Now that Laporte deal looks all but complete, it's fair to say that with Denayer coming back and hopefully Vinny going back to 100% fitness and Nico and Eliaquim still here. I'd rather we wait another 6 months for this deal, or any other CB for that matter. I think fullbacks and a right winger should be our priority at the moment and also, showing door to deadwood.

Kompany back to 100 per cent. Like last summer!!! We may need to face facts...

Yeah, but we'll have Laporte and Denayer to cover our asses this time around . How much are we going to invest into this one particular position only ? If say , Stones and Laporte didn't work out, we'll end up looking like right mugs having spent 150 odd million pounds on names with potential and potential alone . Not saying that they'll fail, cuz I personally think that Laporte would be a hit. But still...

Kompany may have to be used like Ledley King was @ Spurs. One game a week max. If we use him sparingly we may get more out of him.

True, I think this is what we should've done with Yaya last season.

Pep doesn't strike me as the kinda guy who basis his philosophies on gopes and wishes. Stones is still a must go. Komps is our Ledley King, Mangala is not suitable, and Demi has left. We currently have 1 dependable CB Otamendi. And that's not enough.

Yeah, but that situation completely follows the current pool of players that we have. I'd like to add Laporte and Denayer in it. So that makes it Otamendi, Denayer, Laporte, Mangala and say Kompany for 50% of games. Don't you think this would be enough to get through the first 6 months of the season? Plus, I personally don't think that our defensive incapabilities last season were all down to our cbs. Having a 33 year old, tired Yaya in 2 men midfield along with really sticky fullback situation didn't help the defensive side of the team either.

And knowing Pep likes his squad small and stuff, I believe having potentially 6 center backs will certainly not be the case. And I am not even speculating what he'll do to some of the current players that we have, maybe he'll play Ferna as one of the 3 man CB, maybe Sagna would be converted to a CB. Who knows, stranger things have happened really. But that's just my opinion. In my view, after Laporte, there are definitely some other areas that we really need to strengthen.
