Leicester wasn't supposed to be in this year. There are no rules to this thing. You get your talents right and top 4 is doable.
You can never say never but I'd be very suprised if all of us the scumbags Chelsea dippers will all have bad season arsenal will be interesting when wenger decides to leave can see them doing what the rags have going through can eventually see spurs losing their manager to barca in next 2 years too

On Stones - I think it's looking good. EFC bullish about Lukaku but quiet about Stones. Suggests they wont fight too hard to keep him. I thought under new ownership and a new manager they might be awkward, but looks like they are prepared to sell him. If the finance is there, then from EFC's point of view it's better to get a deal done smoothly and quickly and get on with their own plans. Time is important.

On EFC - it might be a good time to launch an attack on top 4. None of the top clubs look solid and nailed on certs to be top 4. City are probably the best bet. I don't see why EFC can't get there although until the players arrive some scepticism about the new owner's intentions is justified. He wouldn't be the first owner to promise the Earth and not deliver.

Launch an attack on the top 4? That's what they and every other team are attempting every year.

It's not about biding their time. It's about being shit.

It takes good management and investment. If they have that, then why not? I want City to be Champions or in the top 4 of a vibrant healthy league where you get a huge buzz after beating your opponent.

Yep, they might do a Leicester and get to the top 4 but they would have to have one hell of a transfer window to keep fighting for it year after year. Just look at Arsenal's squad and their aspirations.

I agree with your sentiments about the league, but getting top 4 & staying there, is hellish difficult because of ffp & the spending power of the old guard, who Everton & others propped up, with their hypocritical bullshit stance on ffp.

Which is piss funny.

50 million for a guy who can't even get in an England team who people are moaning about defensively

Dunno surely there's better for this price

He's a talented boy with the ball at his feet, but he needs a physical, disciplined leader alongside him to keep control of him. Unless we're gambling on Kompany to stay fit next season, we don't have such a player unfortunately. Stones alongside Mangala or Otters frankly scares me a bit.....

Hey, we have a good track record of spunking money away on centre backs, so maybe it will be £50m.
