if this is the case then im not best pleased to be honest. Every man and his dog knows that the weakest part of our squad is the defence, therefore we should have been going all out from day one to get the best defenders in, before we got for more attacking options

Rubbish you can only take players when they become available, should we have said no to Ade coming and waited untill we signed a defender?

yeh, ok, but how long do you wait for them to come available? they only become available once you put a bid in. Clubs arn't going to ring up Gary Cook and say, 'here cookey, Terry is available, please bid for him'

i see adebayor,s said on ssn(website),that there,s 'a big possibility' of JT coming to us......is he hoping or ITK???.......hhmmmmm......

Anyway that Hughes interviews says to me the likes of Nedum and Dunne will be staying, sounds like he is trying to moderate expectation surely we will only get 2 of the 3 defenders we are after in the end.

we started to try and get terry from january so i would say we have been trying all out to get the right defenders in from day 1!

That article was taken after the Inter game so that "couple of days" has been and gone. It is made up imo.
The article was dated the 22nd. I said it was (now) more than a "couple of days" and that OBVIOUSLY Terry was not being LITERAL, when he said "couple". A similar statement was seen on Chelsea TV, by a Chelsea fan, who posted on here http://john-terry.forumcommunity.net/ shortly after it was made. The Chelsea fan [Carla_MrsTerry lol] that posted Terry's comment reported that he [Terry] "promised" he would let "them" (Chelsea fans) know in a "couple of days".

And Lampard said he expects us to challenge for the title.

Never pleased

A number on here have been arguing the case to keep both Ned and Dunnie to improve the bench if we get our targets. It seems like he can't win whatever he does. We have strengthened midfield and attack and now the defence. If we get two of the three mentioned then that is better than this time last year by millions of miles.

If anyone would like to watch our next captain (kidding) in action later today:

Whatever happens no there are no positives for CHelsea their fans must realise this.

That's absolute rubbish.

If he stays, that's all that matters in the end. The fact that he said nothing through it all doesn't add him loyalty points but it doesn't make him a villain, either.

I'm sure Terry staying will be a huge positive for CFC,why wouldn't it be.That would mean that he chose ambition over money. On the other hand, what could City possibly gain out of that outcome except wasted time, effort and yet another big name rejection in the end?

If City do manage to land him,now that's a different story. I just resent the attempts from some posters here to make City look good no matter what happens. You can't have it both ways.
