Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

and city are going to let him use them as a bargaining tool........ i don't fuckin think so

Its not like that. What if we are using each other ?

If we get him great. If we dont get him it costs Chelsea a shit load of money anyway - money they then cant spend on trying to get the likes of Tevez et al.......

This has been a very clever move from City. Its nothing like the Kaka deal. For starters there is none of the hatrid and vitriol in the press much the opposite. If we dont get him there wont be the same level of backlash either.

This little stunt must have seriously pissed off the top brass at Chelsea.....

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

The only way this transfer can happen is for Terry to hand in a transfer request - and that's not going to happen so just forget it

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

1. Would GC have asked Chelsea for Terry if he thought it was a no go?

2. Would GC be doing Terry a favour in letting him use us for a better deal at Chelsea?

3. Would Barry have come if Terry was not on the "wish/confirmed list"?

4. Would our owners risk looking like kids in a sweet shop only to be told no?

5. Would you be happy with a new boss every year that has new ideas and not knowing where you stand?

6. Would you change firms for more money and a fresh start after the above?

1 - No
2 - No
3 - No
4 - No
5 - No
6 - Yes!!!!!

I think some people need to adjust to change. The facts are, Chelsea are no longer top dogs. In truth they have not been for a few years now. They no longer hold all the aces in the transfer market.

Add to that the owners apparent lack of interest and they are just no longer the attractive option they maybe once were.

We have EVERYTHING to offer players, except European football which we have in twelve short months......its on!!!!

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

When you have 850 billion to play with and try for Kaka as a statement and it falls through

you don't in your next breath try for the mother of all statements and try for the captain of England(Mr Chelsea) lightly.

Not trying to bring hopes up..... but for me it's a goer or he would be on the box as we speak

just my thoughts

Kenyon - Terry not for sale
Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has reiterated that John Terry is committed to the Premier League club.

Manchester City recently saw a second offer to sign the defender rejected by the Blues, although the bid remains on the table.

New Chelsea head coach Carlo Ancelotti made it clear on Monday that the side's skipper remains an integral part of his plans.

Kenyon has echoed the Italian's viewpoint and is hopeful the rumours surrounding Terry's future will soon cease.

"He [Terry] is not available at any price," Kenyon said in The Independent.

"He's got a three-year contract. He's told us he doesn't want to go and we don't want him to go. End of story."

It is suggested in Tuesday's press that Chelsea are keen for England international Terry to release a statement outlining his intentions to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

There are far too many denials coming out of Chelsea!
The important one that would end all speculation i.e.from JT has not been made!

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

I've not read the 300 pages of posts on here, so not sure what the rest of you think.

Personally, I think Terry is a Chelsea player and we shouldn't be trying to prise him out with cash.

If he knocked at the door, I'd be delighted. But not comfortable with trying to use financial muscle in a way that we've scorned our rivals for over the years.

The Sun can poke it though. We're big enough for anyone now. Just need to be big enough to play fair.

EDIT: ...and not be used by money-hungry players in their wage battles.
