Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

Cant see how it even matters its only the press and ourselves that have this obsessionwith superstars turning us down. Realistically how many teams inside the top 4 have ever signed what any of us would class as bonified superstars.

The only one off the top of my head that I can think of is scheva for chelsea and that didnt work out 2 well, apart from that what superstars in their prime have signed for any club in the premiership.

Most of the top four sign very good players from europe who with the media coverage here become what we would class as superstars.

Can't see how being turned down superstar after superstar is good for the club???

I can't either

that is exactly why I think we've been lead to believe the JT may be interested in a move.

Given the game it wouldn't be too hard for any PL player to give us a nod if they were interested all they have to do is find someone on our team to have a word with off the record.

As speculated JT could have given us the nod but to what end we'll have to wait and see

he could be interested but then again he may be using us for a better deal only time will tell...... but either way JT's silence at the moment will be useful for both of these reasons

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

There's no way we would have pursued this hard if he wasn't interested.
Terry loves Hughes and Hitchcock so it's not beyond the realms. Kenyon saying he has spoken to Terry I think is misleading, if he had spoke recently then he would say that first not as an aside , I think he is saying that in the past he has told him he wants to stay. geddit?

It wasnt newspaper reports that brought this to the fore. We made a PRIVATE bid and then you chose to PUBLICLY reject it on your website.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-1197668/Chelsea-s-Peter-K-funnier-original.html?ITO=1490" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/articl ... l?ITO=1490</a>
"What has provoked Chelsea's anger this time is that City scheduled a meeting over the transfer of Daniel Sturridge (a young player who City nurtured but who has now joined Chelsea) and used that to make a formal offer for Terry. When this newspaper found out what had happened, Chelsea went on the record in the strongest terms dismissing City's interest."

I believe that article was already mentioned in this thread but the highlighted bit should explain to you why Chelsea decided to go public with their rejection, it was to make their position clear before the press manages to put their own twist on the story.

Makes you wonder though who decided to leak the info about that bid to begin with, and I don't think it was anyone from our club, since it wasn't in Chelsea interest.

funny, coz I read it exactly the other way around. City don't publicize their bids. Ever. I accept there might be more to this one however, but that's getting into the realms of conspiracy theory, and I'm saving that for later :)

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

Puyol has been quoted as saying "I am contracted for another year at Barcelona and now we are working on the negotiations of a new deal.

"I have enjoyed every season here and I want to stay here. For me there is no problem and I am not interested in the rumours in the papers."

Come on Terry!! Do the same and we'll go about our business elsewhere.
