Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

I am becoming completely embarrassed over this Terry affair. We are becoming a joke and a laughing stock by continuing with this. I hope the club totally denies these pathetic newspaper reports about offering 300k per week for Terry.....we all want success but, for God's sake, let's keep a bit of dignity in the process. The Barry and Santa Cruz deals were carried out in a proper manner and I hate to see us give these crappy papers any more ammunition to destroy what reputation we have left. Garry Cook had better be very careful with his dealings over the next few weeks.

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

Given the chastening Kaka affair, there is no way that the Sheiks , Cooke and co would be pursuing this one unless JT was, at least in principle , in favour.

This would not have got to where it has if Terry had not given an indication that he was interested.

Why are we embarrassing ourselves, to me we are making a statement.

Unless you are a s**t scared Raggity Rag Rag

Re: Chelsea reject Terry offer [Merged]

As much as he might be a cock off the field, if there is one guy in England, sans Gerrard or Lampard, we should be giving 300k a week to, it is this guy. It works in so many levels. First off, from a team stand-point, it solidifies the backline greatly, whether it's partnering with Onuoha, Kompany, Lescott, or whoever, it gives us much needed steele. Say what you want about Richard Dunne, yes he was a hard player but how many soft goals did we concede last season? Way too many. Terry is also a vocal, get-in-your-face leader, one that Dunne was not. As much as us opposing fans hate him, his fellow players love him and his opponents respect him. This move, along with the others we made over the past 10 months, and even just 1 of Tevez or Eto'o make us a legitimate contender. But if we were to add Terry, AND Eto'o, AND Tevez, AND Barry to a team who already has a solid core? That is not a team that is hoping to pip Arsenal for the 4th spot but is looking to immediately challenge for the title.

Secondly, if the Kaka bid and the massive Eto'o and Tevez bids, two players who played for the teams competing in the Champions League final last season weren't enough to convince outsiders of our ambitions, having the captain of the English national team captain our project will definitely. Look at our potential pulling power with no European football on the horizon, imagine those that will flock to our club with world class players like Terry and Eto'o playing in a Champions League side.

This deal is far from off the table, Chelsea would never go through these efforts if no word of this deal had ever reached the press to begin with. We are going to come back for him, and it is going to be huge, if we haven't come back for him already. These next few years will be simply mindblowing, and I can't wait until the season starts up again.

If he wants to come then let him say so in the press. Otherwise lets get real and get on with more realistic signings.

He will NOT get £300k a week. It will most likely be half that - don't believe The Sun!
