So now the general consensus is he is staying in a darker shade of blue? I just hope he makes a statement soon. Very soon. I'd just like to see him lifting the Premier League trophy this season in a Chelsea shirt.

i'm not to fussed if he comes or not, if he does great it will make our side stronger if not move on the the next one. (lescott?) but we can't wait to long or else we will look like hypocrites after what we said when we pulled out of the eto'o deal!!

And i can't swallow the 'he has to look after his family' line, come on people how much money does he need to look after his family?!!!!!

if we fail to snag the real john terry, we still need to get a player in the mold of him. im very short on viable options to suggest.

edit*

not woke up yet, i wrote that back to front.

Bridge is looking much better this season, man of the match for me against kaiser chiefs, and I think Richards will return to form too. Ned will go from strength to strength and improve on last year so all in all we're already looking stronger than last season without new recruits... especially if you consider that we've got Kompany as an option in defence when he's fit again.

Come on mate, to say that Bridge is looking much better this season on the basis of a meaningless friendly is stretching it a bit.

Bob, we've got our very own John Terry in the making in the form of Ben Mee. Will take a few seasons but imo he has many attributes similar to the way JT plays.

There isn't really another JT out there but we will improve our defence greatly with Lescott if we do manage to land him. Either way I have faith that MH will recruit quality defenders to take us to the next level regardless of who they may be. I'd guess we'll know in the next 7-10 days.

I think thats what barry was bought for. He can lead the team gerrard-esq style but we need someone in there to marshal the defence. We need someone well-respected, vocal, strong tackler, good header and can play the ball into feet.
SO back to bobs comments Can anyone suggest any alternatives?
