I've dithered about whether to post this or not...especially bearing in mind how some folks get treated on here. Terry's agent has spoken to the press privately to confirm that everything will become clearer today. Not ground breaking I know but Terry putting in a transfer request was not denied by his agent.

OOO it just got interesting!

Well lets just remember Eto'o's agent too... He said the same thing and it was clear as mud... still is...

As I posted after...I don't want to get everyone's hopes up but why can't Terry and/ or his agent simply dismiss City's interest if he is fully intent on staying at Chelsea? The only reason I can see is...Terry will use City's interest to strengthen his position and wage packet at Chelsea or there is geniune interest in moving to City.

It's actually very quiet over at the Chelsea forums. We don't really have any ITKs' or anything and are pretty convinced he is staying. Hopefully the statement will say that, but I have to say it gets more and more likely every day he is going to City. Scary stuff.

Is it a coincidence that all our transfer activity has stopped since we made a bid for Terry?

Are our other targets waiting to find out the outcome of the Terry deal?

i think john terry has let this drag on for 2 long now if i was a chelsea fan and he stayed i'd be right pissed off with him for not just coming out stright away and saying look i'm not leaving lets leave it at that thats all it takes surely he could have done that from where ever he was on hoilday and cos he aint it gives me a bit of hope that he may sign for us i think a lot off this is pressure being put on him from umbro i don't think john terry will hand in a transfer request but i feel he will make it as hard as possible for chelsea not to accept a bid from us

Anyone got the link for the Chelsea forum that was psoted yesterday, want to see what they think of all this

Its still just another bit of ITK info though really isnt it ?

Im sure with jt being back at Cobham it wont be long before we hear something concrete. Lets face it we have havent actually had any official info since the CFC website post.

Too much guessing by fans of both clubs and far too much guessing by hacks with no info on the situation whatsoever.

Couldn't this just be a statement to say he is staying?

Yes it could. It could also be a statement saying he has put in a transfer request. Let's just sit back and see what the next 24/ 48 hours brings.

Oh God, I hope it doesn't run for another 48 Hours. My heart wouldn't be able to cope!

It'll be interesting to see what happens today. It will be nice if it is sorted out one way or another once and for all. We've had enough transfer sagas going on. The Eto'o, Tevez and Lescott deals are doing my head in as it is.

As for Terry. Im sure he'd be a good signing, not just on the football pitch but also as a worldwide statement, but I think we can do better. For 30-40 mill we could get 2 younger CB's who are just as good as, if not better than, Terry - and on less than 150-180 grand a week.

I'd be happy to get him, as it isn't my money, but if we don't I really couldn't care less. Eto'o is the one I really want.

As for Chelsea buying success pre Chel-Ski... Yes and No really, they did go through a mini-revolution with the likes of Vialli, Gullit etc joining, who, whilst not costing tens of millions were quite expensive for that time. 5mill pound players are probably on par with 10-15 nowadays and I don't think they joined Chelsea for shite wages or for their history. That said, every team buys better players to improve. Liverpool spent an absolute fortune over the years and have only recently got anything to show for it. If you buy expensive players and win something they say "you bought success" whilst if you buy expensively but don't win anything you kind of get let off. Comes down to jealousy and the fact people talk about the winners.

Guy feeling is he'll stay at Chelski, Frank did all this last year so by saying nowt he's got a better contract. Shame though , good leader

I think we all accept that there must have been indications to City at some point, even the Chelsea boys I would imagine. If not we just wouldnt waste our time and stir up the hornets nest we have in the press. the issue is how much of an interest IMO and I think its minimal but by god I hope Im wrong. Not because of Terry's defensive capabilities but because of the Leadership qualities he would bring and the statement it would make going forward with our signings.

(cant leave it without a ridiculous conspiracy theory though, so, Maybe Mr Chelsea is stringing us along so we tell him all our plans for this season at which point he goes back and reports to Anchovie and Red Rom and they know what to expect)
;o)

SM [RIP] said Terry was going to put a request in, shit if he really does that bloke will be sorely missed on here....

Is that another ITK or a proper written source i.e article etc.?

I'm with you on the City won't go for players unless they have a good indication that there is a real possibility of them signing.

As for the conspiracy, I'm not with you but enjoyed reading it!
