Robben went on their pre season tour a few years back when he had all but signed for real if I remember correctly.

I still think he will end up staying no matter his desire for playing for us.

However he will have to be like Scarlett Pimpernel to avoid the press over in America.

I don't listen to 5 live but I hope they are right. I just can't see Terry handing in a transfer request, and becoming such a hated figure at the Bridge after being such a hero there.....having said that it's not like Hughes to come out and talk so openly about a transfer target like he did about Terry in the papers this morning. Maybe it was his way of taking some of the pressure off Terry so Terry's not the only 'bad guy' in the saga. Either way I hope there's a quick conclusion to this, if we don't get Terry it'd be good to get the next target in so they can have time to gel with the rest of the squad in pre season. I'd have thought Hughes would want this too.....

There's a definite reason why this was leaked to the media today and I think the pressure argument is a good one, that was my first conclusion also.

People should not read too much into the america trip, because Terry, as mr. Hughes pointed out, is a Chelsea player under a contract that constitutes his obligation to represent the club. However, as long as he avoids contact with the press, the time the contract will be valid for, is still in question.

Apparently Chelsea will have a press conference today/tomorrow, it will be quite interesting to see mr. Ancelotti answering these claims by Hughes.

There are two things to consider here at this moment however:
1) This will not resolve quickly, as Chelsea have to make every possible step to try and hold him, if he wants to go and we will not be agressive and disrespectful to either Chelsea nor Terry. Don't compare this to the Eto'o deadline, because we have not had a bid accepted.

2) The longer this takes, the less likely it is to happen. Terry has to commit one way or the other. As of now, we're pushing it by putting the pressure on Chelsea. But it is a bit of a dead end we're going for. Chelsea won't let us talk, we won't be agressive, Terry is not saying anything. Chelsea won't make a change in their stance, we won't be disrespectful. All eyes on Terry. If he really is keen on it, he has to make a move. If not, we never had a chance.

Gotta say I agree with that its a top post.
I'm of the opinion that we have done just the right thing without stepping over the mark. There has been a gradual increase in the pressure applied by Hughes in his pursuit of JT upping the ante each time, which has obviously been a measured deliberate approach. I dont know what information MH and GC were privileged to know from any alleged source re JT's thoughts (has to be Bridge doesnt it or could it be MH and JT are v. good mates - he was at JT's wedding?) All this subtufuge is like a sideshow. However JT must be seriously mulling the prospect over - I hope we get him in will be massive if we get him!
And some Rag bellend on Red Cafe just offered to eat his own cock on the town hall steps if we sign him!
 
SSN just said that Terry has done a photoshoot with ancelotti and they were positivly bumming each other :(.
 
Barry is in the photo shoot for villa's new kit and is on their season ticket.

yeah he was in a team photo ! big deal !
he will probably be on the plane tomorrow !
but it wont be over until he comes out and puts all this speculation to bed, by saying that he is staying at chelsea

I wouldn't read too much into it. Studge was pictured in the new drill top with the rest of the squad and went to Chelsea a few days later. Truth is Chelsea haven't accepted a bid from us yet so he is still contracted to do all the usual pre-season stuff. Theres a long way to go in this transfer yet
 
Bianchi was in ours last season, even though there was no intention for him to stay at the Club - being in the photo means fook all.

The bit about him being all matey with Ancelotti is more of a concern!

we hav'nt been given permission to talk to him so he has to do all the things that would usually do.

i'll always remember charlie taking that pen in the uefa cup shootout and thinking "he's definitely staying then! no way would they let him take a pen if he was leaving".
