John Wardle, how important was he to where we are now?

100% thick cúnt.

in an interview about moving to our new ground he kept talking about the wide open concourses, but kept referring to them as wide open "concordes".

Self made multi millionaire and you dismiss him as a "thick ****"

Remind us all what you do for a living?

We often toast The Fireman(John Wardle) in the Townley before games. Atrue blue who was a big part of getting us to a place where the Sheikh could buy us

Yeah, thanks for saving the club and everything John but when I asked you for Midgetland tickets you weren't interested. I can forgive but I will never forget.

Had the interests of the club much more at heart than Swales, Lee or Taskin. He will doubtless take great satisfaction from where we find ourselves today and he should also take great pride in the vital role he played in getting us there.

Could you give us the reason you think that he should have given you the tickets ?

The man is obviously a true blue and it was his money at times which saved us from going under.

On the downside why did it take him so long to get a decent investor into a club with such a huge fan base and potential? When he did it was one with a more than dodgy background who almost finished the club off.For once it all turned out alright in the end thank God!

Met them both a couple of times and the striking thing about both is that there are first and foremost fans. I would guess both will admit getting some things wrong- Keegan v Bernstein perhaps- but hearts sometimes rule heads when you are passionate about your club.

Asked them once why it took so long to get an investor and from what they said it was just about finding the right person who had access to the wealth City needed to compete at the highest level- i understand that the attraction of Thaksin was not only his own finances but his access to wealthy friends around the world- a league, quite farnkly, that was beyond 2 market traders from Bury made (very) good
