In all honesty I can't see him going for much more than Evans, I suspect he's lost a bit of his mobility.Just imagine what King Colin would fetch nowadays.

To quote a certain credit card advert: Priceless.Very true.
In the case of Stones, it should have been a no-brainer when he was at Barnsley. Sign him up, loan him back, save £40 mill down the line.
I'd also have gone for Robertson as the second left back and Maguire wasn't an unknown when Leicester picked him up.
I've got nothing against Evans, just don't think he's a good buy at the price we might end up paying.
We clearly needed another CB and I find it hard to understand why we left it to the Name Your Price stage of the window to deal with it.
I know it's not my money (although I've been priced out of Sky, who are part fuelling the craziness) but transfer fees are just getting beyond insanity, especially since Neymar.
Even a month ago any talk of Evans being a £25 mill player would have been deservedly met with cries of 'Nurse!'
But I guess I'm just getting old. I'm from the '£200k for Martin Peters!!!' Generation.
Just imagine what King Colin would fetch nowadays.
Steady on
So you reckon EVERYONE in the media/tv/radio want us to fail??
He's still got more than Matic! In all honesty I can't see him going for much more than Evans, I suspect he's lost a bit of his mobility.
Can you point to the post you made about signing Stones, before he signed for neverton, what with it being a no brainer and all that?Very true.

I called my mate in Failsworth yesterday and asked him the same thing.
He said "I ordered two so we can both look like fucking twats".

Indeed.Lets hope West Brom will keep Jonny because he is irreplaceable.
No probs mate. I know there's a bit of hurt on here towards him but fair fucks he got the balls to come.
You can't sign everybody that shows potential because everybody doesn't realise their potential. This naming players who we could and should have signed when they were but eggs in their mother's wombs is beyond laughable. How many one man businesses would these same people buy shares in because they have potential. People usually wait till they have been developed and proven before they invest. This is exactly the same. This seems quite commonplace for the top clubs. They worry that supporters will howl if they sign a relative unknown from an unfashionable club. Then pay through the nose when they've been proven elsewhere.
Good point. That's probably why it never took off?shouldn't it be, "we sign whom you let go, whom you let go"?
ABJE.
If you think this is fun, wait till he signs. There's going to he heads exploding all over the place. I've been thinking about peoples reaction to Evans' transfer to City, and the conclusion I've come to is that it's got nothing to do with his ability, it's got nothing to do with the price, it's even got nothing to do with him being a rag. It's all about the pisstsking, jibes and abuse that has been thrown at Evans', and rags in general about Evans' all these years. Some will have been fair but for the most part will have been made up, exaggerated bollocks which has now come back to bite us on the arse. It's our old friend karma, and it is a bitch. We're scared that we're going to get our own shit back.
We're scared of the rags laughing at us.
It's like laughing at someone's ugly bird and then ending up marrying her.
I can actually understand the reaction when I think of it like that.
