For United? Is that what worth is based on? He has played 1 game, in the Super cup. He played 47 times for Benfica last year and is a good, ball playing defender who would have been challenging for a starting place at City.
If Evans is being bought as 4th choice - why spend £30m on a 4th choice with no hope of longevity or development? If he is bought to challenge for the 1st team, there were much better options available and some still are.

Without going round in circles and saying what has been said a thousand times on this thread, maybe a part of the criteria is that said defender should be home grown because the club intends to sign 2 more players who are foreign. Yep but I'll trust the manager and my own eyes when I watch Evans play for Us if he is indeed crap after watching a half a dozen games of him I'll own up and say I was wrong! But I give every player who City sign my backing. If other city fans wont it's up to them!

If City spend £30M to sign Evans plus £100k per week on his wages, then they can afford to cut the cost of my season card by a minimum of 50%

£30m is insane for Evans. I'm of the opinion he's a decent option but at £30m he's demonstrably poor value compared to other signings that have happened this summer.

We have space for foreign signings and Keane is association trained, if that is a prequisite.
