Like I said, he may not be the stellar signing we were all hoping for, but if he proves better cover than Mangala & Tosin, I don't see what the issue is personally...He was relatively cheap at the £18m mooted, it's becoming apparent we are going to be going way over that.

You say he's sh't, I say he's not. Not going anywhere is it. We really need cover for Kompany. He is better than what we have because as far as I can see that's Mangala and Tosin and one failed, and the other is untried, and therefore a gamble. At the very least he improves the squad and is homegrown - we need a quota of homegrown players in the squad.So if we don't have any alternatives in mind, we would rather go out and buy shit? Did you forget about Sinclair, Rodwell Delph et al.? So we are happy to go down the same route again considering tha fact that they are ridiculously difficult get rid off?
Comparison is pointless, its 2 different markets completely, and Bonucci was not available to us for personal reasons.
