We had FFP constraints and gambled £3 mill on a player Pellegrini knew.yes he did in his first season, ended up as Premier League champions.
This is not comparable at all.

I'm afraid that's a cop out. We can all think for ourselves and I have said I dont want Evans, but the City Management team obviously do, so why do you think that is?He's not bad, he's average and has as many weaknesses as he does 'tick boxes' is the point I'm making.
I'm not going to answer why pep and his team don't see what I do because it's a fucking cop out question from people not willing to think for themselves.
The West Brom manager explained: "When it's Man City or one of the top four or five clubs, it's very, very difficult then because it affects the player because they have the chance to better themselves.
"We don't want to stop him from doing something he wants to do. We don't want to have a player that stays at the football club and is disappointed.
"He's been in this position before here and he understands the situation, until all parties agree then he won't go anywhere.
"He has been made club captain and he wants to get on with his football."
Welcome Jonny

Imagine Jonny was Spaniard called Jonny Evansio. Started at Barca, consistent, had great Euros, played 300 La Liga games. Now how you feel?
He seems to be highly rated by Spurs fans. I'd be surprised if Tottenham didn't secure him on a renewed, improved contract in the near future. We should be seriously going after Alderverald
