All signings like this show is how out of reality football is.
I know people have mentioned the impact of the TV deal and how it has driven the prices up, but yet again it seems like the only stakeholders in the sport who see no benefits of this deal are the fans.
How anyone can justify rising ticket prices and then spunking over £20 million on a bang average defender is beyond me.
When do the fans ever benefit ? We are just the cash-cow that keeps giving.
So we caved in to WBA's valuation... £30m for 29 year old CB who is nothing special. Bonucci went for £35m...
you really can not use Bonucci as a comparison he got sold cheap to another Italian side and wanted to saty in italy for his ill son if he had choose us im sure as hell we would have paid near £60 million for him.

At 30m, he will be incredibly expensive. He will either get a 3 or a 4-year deal. So he could cost us about 10m in transfer fees alone per season. With no resale value. That's more than De Bruyne costs us a year. (in terms of transfer fees)

People chatting about the transfer fee are just completely out of touch with football transfers this summer.
Hopefully we can get this done before the window closes, whatever the cost. Pep wants him and quite frankly if the club don't land him that'll be incredibly disappointing. Need to get the manager the tools he wants and not make him make do with players he doesn't want.

£30m when just £8m more would have got you Bonucci and £18m more would have got you Naby Keita. You know it's bad when you hear the rag media urging us to sign him. This could be a candidate for our worst signing of the Mansour era.
