If there is anything to learn from this fiasco then it should be that the club should plan ahead for the window and identify targets plus one or two alternatives to give us a viable plan. And we should strike early to avoid the problems that have damaged us this summer (and other summers since Txiki became involved). With this in mind, if I was Txiki, I would be planning a January 1st swoop on Soton for VVD and I would be making the kind of offer that just couldn't be haggled over. By haggling, we lose time and we risk our bids being hijacked by others. What is needed is a firm, focused approach which gets results rather than an approach that risks us ending up looking at the likes of JFE instead.

3 CB's that are comfortable in this system, one that's injury prone, & 3 recognized FB's.

The CL's gonna be a bit difficult

Are you serious?

So you think this window has been a "fiasco".
You think the club "don't plan ahead".
We should "strike" earlier.
You think we've been "damaged" this summer.
You think you know more than those running the club.

#worrying times

We are clearly not going to stop until we get Sanchez. But are we going to do the same for Evans? I doubt it.

You certainly are a cynic after that nonsense.Need to plan ahead !! WTF I mean we`ve hit most of our targets, got full backs,a superb midfielder,Gundogan to come back.As you know VVD was not for sale and it was quite refreshing to see that no-one in their right mind was ever going to pay Southampton £60-70M that they were asking.
We can`t attract world class players for every position and sometimes we have to look at players like JFE to help fill the void.
I`m more realistic than yourself and am very happy with our purchases.Sanchez would have been the cherry on the cake, but I firmly believe that he will be ours either in the New Year but certainly next summer.

Good grief.
