Devastated to of missed out on Jonny Evans ........ even more devastated to have kept Mangala
Think I'll take Peps opinion of a player over yours if it's all the same to you.If he were dogshite we could have found a slot for him, but as I consider him to be worse than dogshite it's another bullet dodged! The season is looking up. Pity about Alexis but next time he has a one-on-one with Ederson the Chilean is gonna put it wide, he will run past Wenger with a wry grin on his face!
Not sure how Mangala can come out of this well.
Can't imagine Pep being happy with him around the squad now.
I'd rather have Mangala up against Lukaku than Stones any day of the week. You're right though, it probably won't happen, let's just hope lukaku doesn't destroy us like he did last season.I doubt he will get the chance. I expect he will only be used in the league cup. If he is ever needed for a league game against United or Chelsea I fear we are in dire straights.
As for him being fast and having the ability to jump............so does a kangaroo, I wouldn't play one of those at CB either.
Not for their photoshop turorials, no, you're own your own.Do the club shop do refunds?![]()
I hear Atletico has this very good, still fairly young rock of a centreback that would suit us well.Thank fuck, now with the money we'll save on Sanchez we can properly address the centreback position next summer if the club still feel the need.

Is that the one we have an option on for next summer already ?
We have 3 CBs who are comfortable in this system?3 CB's that are comfortable in this system, one that's injury prone, & 3 recognized FB's.
The CL's gonna be a bit difficult
If there is anything to learn from this fiasco then it should be that the club should plan ahead for the window and identify targets plus one or two alternatives to give us a viable plan. And we should strike early to avoid the problems that have damaged us this summer (and other summers since Txiki became involved). With this in mind, if I was Txiki, I would be planning a January 1st swoop on Soton for VVD and I would be making the kind of offer that just couldn't be haggled over. By haggling, we lose time and we risk our bids being hijacked by others. What is needed is a firm, focused approach which gets results rather than an approach that risks us ending up looking at the likes of JFE instead.

You certainly are a cynic after that nonsense.Need to plan ahead !! WTF I mean we`ve hit most of our targets, got full backs,a superb midfielder,Gundogan to come back.As you know VVD was not for sale and it was quite refreshing to see that no-one in their right mind was ever going to pay Southampton £60-70M that they were asking. If there is anything to learn from this fiasco then it should be that the club should plan ahead for the window and identify targets plus one or two alternatives to give us a viable plan.
